Update – Just like we saw earlier, Amazon is now adding two new smartphones to its “Prime Exclusive” line of phones. They are the Moto G5 Plus and the Alcatel A30. Unlocked variants of both the phones are being sold and that too at a subsidized price. In exchange, they both will have personalized offers and ads on the lock screen. This is something very similar to what we saw earlier with the BLU smartphone as well. The company sells some lower-cost Kindle models like this.

If you are planning on getting your hands on them, then the Moto G5 Plus will start at $184.99 through the program, which is about $40 less than the retail price of the smartphone. The Alcatel A30 on the other hand is on the cheaper side and it will cost you $59.99 which is again about $40 less than the retail price according to Amazon. Do make a note that you need to be a Prime customer to avail this offer and you can pre-order the devices at these prices from the Amazon website.

Earlier – BLU is the American smartphone that is known for the low-cost smartphones. Now the company came up with a new concept to make their smartphones even cheaper. The latest BLU R1 HD (Buy Now) comes with decent specifications for its price tag of $100. But the users who accept Amazon Ads to show up on their device get the device for just $50 which is half of the what the device actually costs. At such a low price, the device comes with a metal rim with a 2.5D glass laid on top.

The device comes with a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6735 quad-core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz. It comes in two variants with 1GB RAM +8GB storage and 2GB RAM + 16GB storage. While the 1GB RAM variant costs $100, the 2GB variant with increased storage space comes at just $110. Both the variants can be $50 cheaper for the Prime members with the offered $50 Amazon Gift Card.

With the included MicroSD card slot, the storage can be expanded additionally upto 64GB. In the camera department, the device features an 8MP rear camera with f/2.0aperture and autofocus that can record videos in Full HD resolution. On the front is a 5MP selfie camera with wide-angle lens. Both the cameras are assisted with the LED flash for capturing images even in dark light conditions. It is backed by a 2,500mAh battery which makes the device to last at least a day of mixed usage.

It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity while the VoLTE will be added soon via OTA update. The Ads supported BLU r1 HD also comes with pre-installed Amazon apps for accessing Prime benefits, including Prime Video, Prime Music, unlimited photo storage and backup, free 2-day shipping, and more. The Ads are only limited to the lock screen, and users can just swipe or unlock the device to dismiss the ads.

The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with stock like UI. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The discount may seem appealing but I don’t think anyone should buy it.Come on,who wants their notification space to be filled with ads
Everyone is trying to remove all crappy pre installed apps from their phones and who wants it to be filled with ads.
