Motorola Z Series Smartphones may feature Modular options like the LG G5

Lenovo has recently launched the next-gen Moto G devices, the Moto G4, G4 Plus and G4 Play and are already available for purchase globally. The brand has recently confirmed that it has opted the Moto X series with the all-new Moto Z series. The Lenovo Tech World event is scheduled for June 9th where the company is set to reveal the Moto Z family. Now, latest leaks suggest that the Moto Z devices will have the modular capabilities similar to the LG G5.
The modules of the Motorola will be called as ‘MotoMods.’ If the rumors are to be believed it will have six unique modules, a Pro camera, Adventure, Theatre, Stereo, Power, and Style. As of now, we cannot accurately tell how the MotoMods work, but it seems kind of interesting. Today, a new image have been leaked online that we can expect to be the detachable modules of the upcoming Moto Z smartphone.
Going by the picture, we can say that the image on the front will probably be the HassleBlad Camera Mod; the middle image is the JBL speakers and the picture at the back in Pico Projector MotoMod. Lenovo is following LG’s footsteps by launching a smartphone with modular capabilities, but it looks like Moto Z devices will offer even more of what we have seen on the LG G5. Apart from this, we do not have any information about the specifications of the upcoming devices.
Talking about the MotoMods briefly:
- The HassleBlad Camera Mod will be for the professional photography with zoom lens, camera shutter button and large flash. The HassleBlad camera was also earlier used in the Vertu Signature smartphone, and we can also expect Moto Z with HassleBlad Camera Mod to be priced on the higher side.
- The JBL speakers mod will be for true sound experience and will be aimed towards the music lovers.
- The Pico Projector Mod will be more for business purpose as it could be used to project videos on a larger screen with the device.
The earlier leaks suggest that the Moto Z will come in two different variants. The high-end variant will have a 5.5-inch 2K AMOLED display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, 13MP camera with advanced features while the other variant will come with a 5.5-inch full-HD display, Snapdragon 825 SoC, 16MP camera and 3500mAh battery. Both the devices will include a fingerprint sensor and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Stay tuned for more updates in coming days as the launch event is just a couple of weeks away.
