Moto G5S & G5S Plus Special Edition Smartphones Launched in India, Pricing Starts from Rs. 13,999

Earlier this month, Lenovo-owned Motorola unveiled the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus smartphones in Europe. Today, the company launched the both the Moto G5S & Moto G5S Plus in the Indian market for Rs. 13,999 & Rs. 15,999 respectively. Both the devices come only in one variant with 4GB of RAM. The Moto G5S will be sold through offline retail stores, Moto Hubs, and Amazon India. On the other hand, the Moto G5S Plus is exclusively available through Amazon India & Moto Hubs. These two devices are the special edition variants that come with upgraded specifications and built quality compared to the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus that was launched in the first half of 2017.

The new Moto G5S & Moto G5S Plus sports unibody metal design with chamfered edges. The large camera module on the rear of the Moto G5S now holds dual camera sensors along with dual LED flash. It sports dual 13 MP cameras on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, up to 8X digital zoom, auto HDR, and professional mode. There is also video stabilization and can record 4K videos at 30 fps. For selfies, there is an 8 MP wide-angle sensor on the Moto G5S Plus with f/2.0 aperture and single LED flash. Talking about the cameras on the Moto G5S, there is a 16MP single rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

On the front is the physical home button that comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor. It also supports one button navigation with different gestures. It runs on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and we expect to see the Android 8.0 Oreo update in the coming months. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. The new Moto G5S sports a bigger 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display compared to the 5-inch Full HD display on the Moto G5. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU.

It includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage that can be further expandable via a MicroSD card slot. The Moto G5S is backed by a bigger 3,000mAh battery and supports TurboPower fast charging technology. Coming to the Moto G5S Plus, there is a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display on the front that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. The Moto G5S Plus comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage additionally up to 128GB. The smartphone measures 153.5 x 76.2 x 9.5 mm and weighs 168 grams.

The Moto G5S Plus is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable battery that also TurboPower fast charging. Just like the Moto G5 devices, the Moto G5S & Moto G5S Plus also comes with nano-coating on the top which makes them splash proof.
