Officially Launched
Moto G Turbo Edition with Snapdragon 615 Processor Launched in India for Rs 14,499
Motorola is riding high on the success of its handsets in India, the recently launched Moto X Style and the Play are getting good traction on the market and certainly have received good consumers reviews. We played out with both handsets and considered the Moto X Play to be quite a good competitor in the mid-range.
Today, the company has expanded its horizon with another handset, the Moto G Turbo Edition. It is an upgrade to the Moto G Third Generation, priced at Rs 14,499, the new edition is a considerable upgrade from the original handset introduced in November this year. It is again Flipkart exclusive and would be available to purchase from today 12PM (IST) onwards.
Sporting a new Octa-core processor Snapdragon 615, it clocks at 1.7GHz, thus replacing the low power Quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. This should smooth things up for the Android stock performance as you get Android Lollipop 5.1 version out of the box. It is IP67 rated, which means the device is water resistant up to 30 minutes and dust resistance as well.
But the brand hasn’t done much upgrade when concerning the battery capacity, which is still at 2470mAh. Although, there is a fast charging, aptly named “TurboPower”, which would give up to 6 hours of usage in only 15 minutes of charging. It still sports a 5-inch HD display, unlike what was expected as a full HD display.
What else is similar? There is a 2GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage on the device with an option to expand the storage space via microSD card slot. While many manufacturers are not giving preference to microSD card slots these days, but Motorola has been quite consistent by offer this feature on most of its devices.
At this range, the device would be competing with likes of Xiaomi Mi 4i, Lenovo K3 Note and the recently launched Obi Worldphone SF1 smartphone. Now only time would tell whether the battery capacity is good enough on new Turbo Edition of Moto G or not. Stay tuned for our coverage regarding this handset as we bring you more information about this handset in our reviews.
