Micromax had tweeted yesterday about the launch of a new smartphone today in New Delhi, India. Now the company has officially unveiled the ‘Canvas Xpress 4G’ with the model number Q413 and is priced at Rs. 6,599. The device is priced aggressively considering the companies pricing strategy of earlier launched devices. With these specifications, the Canvas Xpress 4G can compete against the likes of Yu Yuphoria and Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime.
The device sports a 5-inch HD display and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is the MediaTek 6735p Quad-Core processor clocked at 1GHz along with 2GB of RAM. It 16GB of internal storage out of which only 12GB is available to the end user, but the storage expandable upto 32GB via provided MicroSD card slot. It comes with a metallic frame around the device and plastic back cover.
Talking about the camera, it has an 8MP rear camera with OmniVision sensor and an LED flash, on the front it has a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with customized skin and also included bloatware apps like Amazon Kindle, Scandid, Clean Master, hike, Quickr and few others.
The battery on the device is of 2,000mAh capacity that can give a decent battery life. It will be exclusively available through Flipkart and will be sold via open sales, unlike the flash sales that most of the companies are opting. The company is also offering Airtel double data for the first six months for Airtel customers.
Earlier this month, a new Micromax device named Canvas Amaze was listed on the company website. While there is no official information about the launch of the device, it is already available for sale through third-party online stores at Rs. 7,999. Compared to Canvas Express 4G, the Canvas Amaze offers better specifications in the camera department with a slight increase in the price.
