Meizu Reportedly Working on Smartphone with Pop-up Selfie Camera

A year after launching the smartphones with the slider mechanism, the Chinese companies are now going back to the pop-up selfie cameras in order to offer complete bezel-less experience. Vivo and OPPO even launched their latest mid-range smartphones with the pop-up selfie cameras. Another Chinese company Meizu which is yet to completely adopt the notch display has applied for the patent for a smartphone with pop-up selfie camera. While most of the newly launching smartphones come with some kind of notches, Meizu opted for the thin bezel instead of a notch for its smartphones.
However, the upcoming Meizu 16s flagship is rumored to come with a waterdrop notch display. As of now, there is no official confirmation and we need to wait till the launch day to get the first look of the device. From the images from the patent, we can see the pop-up selfie camera to look exactly similar to the one on the OPPO F11 Pro and Vivo V15 Pro smartphones. Since there are rumors about any other Meizu smartphone, the complete full view display smartphone with no top bezel or notch might launch only in the latter half of the year.
Currently, the company is gearing up for the Meizu 16s launch on April 23rd in China. The device will come powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform built on 7nm FinFET node. As per the TENAA listing, we confirm it to sport 48MP dual camera setup on the rear and a 20MP single selfie camera on the front. It will be running on the latest Android 9.0 Pie based Flyme OS out of the box. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
