Meizu MX4 Pro Launched with 5.5-inch 2K Display, 3350 mAh Battery

Meizu has just launched the MX4 Pro smartphone at an event in Beijing, China. This flagship device from Meizu is incredible with the specs, which include the 2K display (only a few devices right now has that resolution) with 2560×1536 pixels of screen resolution. The resolution keeps the pixel density high at 546 PPI.

The Meizu MX4 had nothing that could make it look like a flagship smartphone, and thus the MX4 is coming in with power-packed stuff. The 2K display comes with an energy saving technology, and the narrow bezels around the display keep the width of the phone to 77mm. The display has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and it has a NEGA negative LCD panel.

The MX4 Pro is powered by Samsung Exynos 5430 processor (octa-core chipset), the same one which you already have seen in the Samsung Galaxy Alpha (review), and that chipset is said to support 2K resolution displays quite well. There is 3GB RAM included as well. The promo video shows the device to have a sapphire glass home button with a fingerprint scanner beneath. Meizu is calling this the mTouch, and announces that this is the first front-facing home button with fingerprint scanner on an Android phone. It is said to have a response speed of 0.5 seconds, and the identification angle is 360-degree.

Just like what the MX4 had, there is a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash. But the front-facing camera is upgraded, to a 5-megapixel one and the Flyme 4 OS from Meizu now has an updated face beauty feature for the selfies with the updated camera.

There are some audio enhancements, including ES9018 audio chip and OPA1612 operational amplifier for a better crisp and clear audio output, and very little background noise. There are loads of connectivity options, including NFC.

Meizu also announced a new pair of in-ear headphones, i.e. EP21-HD. These will be sold at 129 Yuan separately, or 99 Yuan when purchased with the smartphone. Some cases for the MX4 Pro will be available as well, for the same price of 129 Yuan.

The MX4 Pro is going to be sold from December 6th, for a price depending on storage, as follows.

32GB: 2699 Yuan
