Meizu MX4 Pro

Meizu has just launched the MX4 Pro smartphone at an event in Beijing, China. This flagship device from Meizu is incredible with the specs, which include the 2K display (only a few devices right now has that resolution) with 2560×1536 pixels of screen resolution. The resolution keeps the pixel density high at 546 PPI.

The Meizu MX4 had nothing that could make it look like a flagship smartphone, and thus the MX4 is coming in with power-packed stuff. The 2K display comes with an energy saving technology, and the narrow bezels around the display keep the width of the phone to 77mm. The display has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and it has a NEGA negative LCD panel.

The MX4 Pro is powered by Samsung Exynos 5430 processor (octa-core chipset), the same one which you already have seen in the Samsung Galaxy Alpha (review), and that chipset is said to support 2K resolution displays quite well. There is 3GB RAM included as well. The promo video shows the device to have a sapphire glass home button with a fingerprint scanner beneath. Meizu is calling this the mTouch, and announces that this is the first front-facing home button with fingerprint scanner on an Android phone. It is said to have a response speed of 0.5 seconds, and the identification angle is 360-degree.

Meizu MX4 Pro Phone

Just like what the MX4 had, there is a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash. But the front-facing camera is upgraded, to a 5-megapixel one and the Flyme 4 OS from Meizu now has an updated face beauty feature for the selfies with the updated camera.

There are some audio enhancements, including ES9018 audio chip and OPA1612 operational amplifier for a better crisp and clear audio output, and very little background noise. There are loads of connectivity options, including NFC.

Meizu also announced a new pair of in-ear headphones, i.e. EP21-HD. These will be sold at 129 Yuan separately, or 99 Yuan when purchased with the smartphone. Some cases for the MX4 Pro will be available as well, for the same price of 129 Yuan.

The MX4 Pro is going to be sold from December 6th, for a price depending on storage, as follows.
16GB: 2499 Yuan
32GB: 2699 Yuan
64GB: 3099 Yuan

I think its pro named right as it has all the latest flagship which just boom it .. But the question is what is it??? A chinese product com’on chinese product are getting not only their space but also loot the space of others which i just hate too much but its a business i single cant do anything but still wants to say kick offf chinese product..

    • Suraj Racharla

Chinese products kill alot of businesses. It because they don’t have a high profit margin!!

  • Android

Woah this is a very cool and good looking device. It looks very robust and and even though it is compact it is not compromised for anything.the phone also has pretty slim bezels adding more aesthetic to the phone The phone is crafted nicely in way a that the most premium flagships would be made. The aluminim bild on the device looks very good and i think they should do it for all their phones. Also i noticed the Mtouch which is a fingerprint scanner. It looks like a Samsung fingerprint scanner where you slide your finger but it is actually a touch scanner and you just have to touch the scanner to unlock it. The camera is amazing at 20.7 megapixels and i am exicted to see the pics phoneradar gets if they do get the device. The processer is good but it could be better but it still very strong and you really dont need to worry about it. And the screen is gorgeous,. With a big screen of 5.5 inches and a 546 ppi it is one of the best screens on the market right now!!!. People buying this phone will not be dissapointed and if the price is not flagship price for this phone people who have the abitlity to buy should buy it if they want a future proof phone. MEIZU did an amazing job with this phone and they have taken a big positive step towards making to the top of the phone market.

      Nice phone by Meizu

  • Jugal Mudoi

On paper it looks like a beast but would love to see a review, real world use… then we could be sure about their claims.

    • True a review would be nice to see how the device preforms, I also use the phone comparison tool to measure phones up against competition. There are loads of variables that indicate whether a phone has quality and how it will fare against others!

  • very powerful flagship phone. I put it in the same ring with the Xpria Z3 and Galaxy Note 4. Its a slightly smaller display at 5’5 and lower pixel density at 546 compared to notes solid 550, but you probably wont notice that. What you will notice however is the incredibly sharp 21 megapixel camera comparable to the z3. This phone is a huge leap from the mx4 and a great option in china. Lucky china…

I think also in real life it performs very good. It does like a device that would be used 2-3 years from now!!

    • Ajanth Uthayakumaran

i doubt, the company seems cheap

      • Suraj Racharla

but i think the specs are pretty good and i think this is a reputable company

      • The company is building good reputation with great devices, wouldn’t you want this?

    • Ajanth Uthayakumaran

I think I used it before

  • thebrain

The specs are good, but I wonder if the Exynos 5430 will be good enough in terms of performance and autonomy with the size and resolution of the screen. We’ll see if Meizu has sufficiently optimized, but it would be a shame they get to do it better than Samsung, especially with this screen. For the design, it’s crazy as it looks like a Iphone 3gs with fine edges. We’ll see what the tests say. 🙂

    • Suraj Racharla

I know it wpuld be a shame if it performed better than Samsung phones but atleast for Samsung phonez you know that you eill be able to use them for the bext 2-3 years. And also you know Samsung phones will have better quality. And yes it does look like an iphone 3gs with an updated design!!!!

    • I think the ex is can hold against snapdragon 805 processors they are both pretty equivelant which one you use really just depends on what part of the globe you live in. Another factor is reinstalled apps and ui that can slower performance but that’s only minimal.

      • thebrain

I agree, but the exynos which is compared to the S805 is the 5433 present in the Galaxy Note 4, the one who is in that Meizu is the 5430 of the Galaxy Alpha. So I would have thought for such a high-end device , Meizu would have chosen the Samsung high-end processor that is 5433 . Anyway we’ll see if the performance will be quite the appointment.

Earlier flagships by meizu were also pretty good smartphones but for some reason they didn’t get much attention like xiaomi, gionee etc .But With this beautiful device another chinese company has taken competition to higher level .

    • Suraj Racharla

Yes i have to agree with you. Chinese companies are really picking up and fast and big companies like Apple and Samsung should start innovating new things.

      • Ajanth Uthayakumaran

This is a warning for Apple and samsung

    • Yeah they are meizu also has the advantages of selling phones really cheap with high specs because of their parts, so when they rise they will be making mass profits like xiaomi

  • Joshua Akinsola

One small quirk on this phone. And it is very small almost miniscule this quirk. Retina Sound. Last time i checked the retina was part of the eye. Specifically the light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the inner eye that acts like the film in a camera. I dont know of this retina sound.

  • Ajanth Uthayakumaran

i really need to catch up on alot of things. Never heard of this and it is such a beast!!

    • Android

How could not hear of this…… So much tech websites talk about this and Phone radar is very dependable when it comes to this type of issues

      • Ajanth Uthayakumaran

Lol other websites dont talk about it

    • Phoneradar will keep you updated, and has a wonderful community to support!!

    • Suraj Racharla

      Well you better get started!!!

      • Ajanth Uthayakumaran

Yes Suraj I will get started!!

  • Ajanth Uthayakumaran

its a big step but it is not enough to make it to the top. This phone doesn’t have branding and they need that to be successful

    • Suraj Racharla

lol actually i think there brand is pretty famous in Asia and in INdia. I know many people who want this device

  • Shashank Chourey

I kinda like this phone.. it’s got a well-designed and well-constructed body to match its beefy internals. It does look like a blown-up version of the iPhone 3GS at a distance because of its rounded edges, bordered by metal rims (sans the glossy back panel), but not to a point that it looks like a cheap knock-off. Those who are picky about thick bezels surrounding the display will certainly appreciate the effort of Meizu

  • yeah we will im excited to see the performances of both regional phone and learn of any changes! by the way if one of these is an internationally unlocked device which processor would it most likely have?

  • Suraj Racharla

it a great and amazing phone by Meizu. I dont how they did all this under a small price tag but it is amazing to see MEizu offer flagship specs with a flawless design!!

  • Suraj Racharla

Really was it good expiriece and how was the UI, does the phone good in your hands and is it slippery?!?!?!

  • Suraj Racharla

it maybe by Meizu has to start building a reputation outside of Asia now. They shoul dnow tackle Europe and make their way into south America. After that it will be code red for Samsung And apple!!!

  • Suraj Racharla

This is extacly why i love Phone Radar. It offers amazing phone reviews and gives us tips and tricks on many phones. the review are also amazing and they deserve an AWARD!!. This is my morning news everyday!!!

  • Suraj Racharla

LOL check out Phone radar’s youtube channel the videos are amazing and i think they must have spent alot of time making it. Great job Phone radar!!
