Last month, Meizu launched a low-cost smartphone called Meizu M6T in China. It comes with a polycarbonate shell and is priced at just 799 Yuan (approx $120 / Rs 8,300) for the base variant with 3GB of RAM. Now the same device is rumored to launch soon in India exclusively via Flipkart. While Meziu has launched quite a few budget smartphones in India, the company never seemed a competitor to any other budget smartphone brands.
While other Chinese brands like Xiaomi and Honor are aggressively launching new devices in India, Meizu M5 launched in May 2017 is the company’s last smartphone to launch locally. As of now, there is no information about the pricing or exact availability date of the Meizu M6T in India. In China, the device came with a 5.7-inch In-cell display with HD+ (1440 × 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.
The Meizu M6T is backed by 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor and came in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants. While the 3GB RAM variant comes packed with 32GB of internal storage, the 4GB RAM variant is made available in 32GB and 64GB storage options in China. In terms of optics, the device sports dual rear cameras featuring 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Chinese variant launched with Android Nougat based Flyme OS out of the box. It is backed by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery that supports only up to 5V/1.5A (7.5W) charging input. There is also a circular fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
