Meizu Launches Pro 6 Plus with 5.7″ 3D Touch Display & Exynos 8890 SoC

After announcing the latest Flyme 6 OS and Meizu M3X smartphone, the company also launched the flagship Meizu Pro 6 Plus smartphone today in China. The device looks similar to the recently launched Pro 6S smartphone with Aluminum built unibody design and curved Antenna bands. It runs on the new Flyme 6 OS based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. Below the rear camera, we can find the LED ring flash containing 10 LEDs. It is powered by the latest Exynos 8890 processor. Earlier to this, the Meizu Pro 5 is the last smartphone to use the Samsung’s Exynos SoC, it came with Exynos 7420 processor. The Meizu Pro 6 Plus will be available in Champagne Gold, Sky Gray & Moonlight Silver color options.

It sports a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. It comes with a pixel density of 518 ppi and offers 600 nits of brightness. It supports 3D Touch same as on the latest iPhones, but the usage will be limited to just system apps. The Always-On display (AOD) feature shows the time, date, battery life, and notifications. Under the hood is the Exynos 8890 octa-core processor coupled with Mali T880 GPU. This is the same processor that is used in Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, and Note 7 smartphones. It comes with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The 64GB storage variant comes with Exynos 8890 SoC clocked 2.0GHz and includes Mali T880 MP10 GPU, On the other hand, the 128GB storage variant comes with the same processor clocked at 2.43GHz and sports Mali T880 MP12 GPU.

On the back of the device, there is a 12MP IMX386 sensor with 4-axis OIS, 6P lens, f/2,0 aperture, PDAF, and laser autofocus. There is also a 5MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens. It also offers ArcSoft’s skin adaptive algorithm technology to make the selfies looks even better. The Pro 6 Plus comes with dual SIM dual standby support. It packs 3,400mAh non-removable battery with mCharge fast charging technology. The device also includes ES9018 and ADA4807 dedicated audio chips for Hi-Fi audio output. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b /g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, and USB Type-C 3.1 port. The fingerprint sensor on the front can unlock the device in the just 0.15 seconds.

It measures 155.6 x 77.3 x 7.3 mm and weighs 158 grams. The 64GB storage variant is priced at 2,999 Yuan (approx $435 / Rs. 29,900), while the 128GB model costs 3,299 Yuan (approx $480 / Rs. 32,900). For comparison, the earlier launched Pro 6 and Pro 6S smartphones came with the same design. Both these devices sport the same 5.2-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display with 3D Touch support. The company also used the same Helio X25 SoC for both these devices. They include with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The camera sensors of Pro 6S are same as on the Pro 6 Plus. The Pro 6 came with a 21.1MP rear camera with LED ring flash and while the front camera is same as on the other two devices.
