MediaTek has unveiled its two new deco-core processors namely Helio X23 and Helio X27 which are the successors of Helio X20 and Helio X25 which come under the Helio X20 family. This Taiwanese company is based at Hsinchu has been making chipsets for many smartphone makers like LeEco, Doogee, Meizu, Xiaomi, Sony, HTC, Gionee, LG, Lenovo and few more.
MediaTek Helio X23 and X27 comes with Mediatek Tri-Cluster Deca-core architecture with 2x ARM Cortex-A72 + 4x ARM Cortex-A53 + 4x ARM Cortex -A53 and MediaTek CorePilot 3.0 technology. These processors will support up to 4GB of 2x LPDDR3 800MHz RAM and have ARM Mali T880 MP4 GPU.
Jeffrey Ju, Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Operating Officer at MediaTek, said, The MediaTek Helio platform fulfills the diverse needs of device makers. Based on the success of MediaTek Helio X20 and X25, we are introducing the upgraded MediaTek Helio X23 and X27. The new SoCs support premium dual camera photography and provide best-in-class performance and power consumption,”
Both these processors support Dual camera photography which has become mandatory in today’s high smartphones. With the upgraded MediaTek Imagiq image signal processing solution the Helio X23 and X27 will fully support dual camera photography. The MediaTek Imagiq ISP will be the first to integrate color and mono cameras and depth-of-field applications into a single ISP aimed at both quality and functionality for photography.
Both the processors will boast significant improvements in imaging, exposure control, portrait performance, saturation and dual phase-detection system and large aperture applications optimized through the color+mono dual camera. These also include MiraVision EnergySmart power-saving technology that effectively the smart display parameters which are based on the on-screen content and ambient lighting for up to a 25% reduction in power consumption.
With all these features put together gives the best visual experience that is possible. Moreover, these processors have and Envelope Tracking Module that will be providing further power-efficient by dynamically adjusts the output voltage which is based on signal strength from the power amplifier. This will be reducing the power consumption up to 15% in the peak hours.
The Helio X23 & Helio X27 will be used with smartphones very soon and can be made available early next year. Stay tuned to Phoneradar and will come back with more information and news. Do comment in the section below if you have more queries on the same.
