At the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona last month, LG launched the new Stylus 3 along with LG K-series smartphones. Now, the company launched the LG Stylus 3 in the Indian market for Rs. 18,500. Unlike the other smartphones at this price, the Stylus 3 offers removable back panel. LG is also offering a Quick Smart Cover for free that shows the notifications in the circular cutout. At this price, the device packs decent specifications, but the included Stylus offers unique capabilities. It is said to come with 1.8mm precision tip and shows the pop-ups for Pop memo, Capture +, Pop Scanner, and Quick Memo previews once the Stylus is taken out.
With the Screen-Off Memo feature, the user can pull out the Stylus and write on the screen. On the front is a 5.7-inch In-cell display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) technology. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and comes coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto a 2TB. In the camera department, there is a 13MP autofocus sensor on the rear with LED flash and an 8MP sensor on the front for selfies. Both the cameras can record videos at Full HD resolution. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers VoLTE for using the Jio 4G SIM.
The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the UX UI 5.0 laid on top. With all these specifications, the 3,200mAh battery keeps the device powered on. Connectivity options include Cat.6 LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB OTG, 3.5mm Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. Just below the rear camera, we can find the circular power button that comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. The power button can also be used as a shutter button in the camera app. It measures 15.6 x 79.8 x 7.4mm and weighs 149 grams. The Stylus 3 also includes Proximity, Ambient light, Accelerometer, Digital compass, and Gyroscope sensors.
At the MWC, the company also launched its latest flagship smartphone, LG G6 powered by last year’s Snapdragon 821 SoC. While the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be launched next week, it might go on sale in India by the end of next month. On the other side, there is no information about the availability of the LG G6 smartphone in the Indian market. LG G6 is the non-Pixel smartphone to get the Google Assistant feature. We also expect it to be soon available for the LG Stylus 3 as well. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
