Last week, LG introduced the new Q-series by launching the Q6+, Q6, and Q6a smartphones with the FullVision display. Today, the company announced a new smartphone called LG Q8 with high-end specifications. It is actually a mini variant of the last year’s LG V20 which came with a 5.7″ display. LG also confirmed to launch the LG V30 on August 31st at IFA 2017 in Berlin, Germany. Unlike the LG Q6+, Q6, and Q6a, the new LG Q8 sports thick bezels on the top and bottom of the display. However, there is a secondary display as seen on the LG V10 and LG V20.

It sports a 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) IPS display offering a pixel density of 564 PPI and 500 NIT of brightness. There is also a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on the top for extra protection. The Always-on secondary display comes with 1040 x 160 pixels resolution. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. There is 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expandable technically up to 2TB via MicroSD card slot.

Talking about the dual cameras on the rear, there is a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP secondary sensor with 135-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.4 aperture. It also comes with dual LED flash and offers 0.5X optical zoom. For selfies, there is a 5MP sensor on the front with 120-degree wide-angle lens and f/1.9 aperture. The 3,000mAh non-removable battery on the LG Q8 is rated to deliver up to 4 hours of talk time and lasts up to 100 hours on standby mode. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the LG UX 5.0 UI laid on top.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, IR blaster, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, 3.5mm Audio jack, and USB Type-C port. The LG Q8 also features Quad DAC for Hi-Fi audio output. It measures 149 x 71.9 x 8 mm and weighs 146 grams. Just like the LG G6, the LG Q8 is also water and dust resistant. The volume rocker is placed on the left edge, while the power button with the integrated fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device. The device will be available only in Titan color and is priced at £599.90 (approx $777 / Rs. 50,000).
