LG Isai Japan

While we have been talking about the leaks, rumors and finally LG coming out with the date for an event for the announcement of LG G3, a sudden announcement of the LG Isai FL in Japan throws some light on the specifications that could be included in the next International flagship from LG. The Isai FL from LG is exclusive KDDI Japan, and it is the successor to the Isai (a LG G2 based phone) which was launched last year.

This would be the first smartphone from LG in the WQHD resolution, as the 5.5-inch display with have the resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. Having said that, this could be one of the earliest to have the QHD resolution display. It is the AH-IPS LCD display which makes it a pixel density of 538 PPI. The internal specifications of the Isai includes a Snapdragon 801 MSM8975-AC quad-core processor clocking at 2.5 GHz, and this is supported by 2GB RAM on-board.

The LG Isai FL runs the Android 4.4.2 out of the box, and the user interface is the one getting a big upgrade, with the interface having the features such as “Isai Motion” and “Knock Code”. The Isai Motion is something which makes the interface intuitive with gestures, while the Knock Code is something helping in the security, and takes the “Knock On” feature to the next level. The icons in the bottom dock look transparent, with the capacitive system buttons just below the icon tray. And although we are seeing such feature in the other flagship devices already, the LG Isai has the “dual-window” feature which can make the users use two apps at the same time. Camera wise, the device has a 13.2-megapixel camera on the rear side, while the front shooter is a 1.3MP one.

And there you go with the resistance to water – the Isai boasts the dust and waterproof capabilities although the certification is not known, while the competitor Xperia Z2 has the same, and the Galaxy S5 is resistant to these weather conditions. Just like the numbers 1080p and 13MP have become a benchmark for the flagship devices, the resistance to water is being included in the list. The dimensions of the LG Isai are 145 x 76 x 10.5, thus you aren’t looking at anything thin here but again, LG has brought out something new in the design, as we see a power key in the right panel, while the volume rockers are seen on the rear side below the camera lens.

The connectivity options in the LG Isai FL include LTE-Advanced (150Mbps down, 50Mbps up) and the WiMax 2+, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and IR Blaster. The battery in the smartphone is the same as in the G2, i.e. 3000 mAh capacity.

The LG Isai looks a beauty with the excellent color options such as White, Blue and Pink and the design making this look wider, although LG took quite some space to give the Isai branding below the display. This phone can easily be one of the ways users can see what is to come in the LG G3 or probably the next Nexus smartphone.
