In the first week of this new year, Lenovo has launched the Lenovo K4 Note with some good mid range specs along with aggressive pricing. The latest device is the successor for the most popular Lenovo K3 Note. Not even we are in a new month; the company had launched a new smartphone in the K series called as K5 Note in its home country.
The Lenovo K4 Note and K5 Note comes with the same 5.5-inch 1080p display. While the K4 Note is powered by a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor, the K5 Note comes with a much superior Helio P10 SoC. Both the devices come with a 16GB of internal storage and the K4 Note has a 3GB of RAM, the K5 Note is limited to just 2GB of RAM. Coming to the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and dual LED flash on both the device and on the front, the K4 Note has a 5MP sensor while the K5 Note comes with an 8MP sensor.
The devices support dual SIM dual standby and offer 4G LTE connectivity. Both the devices come with a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear side. In case, if you are thinking of expanding the storage, both the devices support up to a maximum of 128GB. Even though the devices come with a same 5.5-inch display, the K5 Note measures slightly smaller in length and breadth. The K4 Note is backed by a 3,300mAh battery and on the other hand, the K5 Note features a slightly larger 3,500mAh battery capacity but measures less thick than its predecessor.
The devices run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with the customized Vibe UI laid on top. There is also a theme store on these devices, which helps you even further in customizing the devices. In the camera app, the front camera supports virtual flash that brightens the display to capture better selfies in the dark light conditions. You can also enable the fingerprint settings to use it as a shutter button in the camera app. There is no information regarding the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for these devices, but we can expect the company to release the update in near future.
The Lenovo K4 Note is the first device to be launched in the market and has already finished its first sale. Apart from India, the device is also launched in UAE and China. The China is the first market to see the K4 Note, but it was launched there as a Vibe X3 Youth Edition. Talking about the K5 Note, it was launched officially today in China and will be sold via flash sales as K4 Note. While we cannot expect the launch of K5 Note in other markets as of now and the availability of K4 Note is expected to spread across other Asian countries.
At last, let’s see the pricing differences between these two devices, the Lenovo K4 Note is priced at Rs. 11,999 while the latest K5 Note came with a price tag of 1099 Yuan in China which converts to Rs. 11,300. Though there is no major difference in pricing, the Lenovo K5 Note feels to be a better device with it’s all metal body and slightly better specifications expect the RAM.
