Lava International, an Indian mobile handset company, has launched their first hybrid tablet in the market. The Twinpad is a Windows 10 powered tablet that promises a tablet and laptop experience in one device. The market is being flooded with these kinds of hybrids a lot, such as the recently launched Huawei MateBook, which is in no comparison to this Lava product, but offers quite the package for a Rs 15,999 pricing.
The Twinpad comes with a 10-inch multi-touch IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution; it’s not the highest resolution display but is good enough for browsing and watching HD movies. Note that screen also supports a stylus, but it’s not bundled with a tablet. The design supports bi-directional placement, which means you can either use it as a laptop while attached to the keyboard or use the detachable keyboard as the stand. Company promises, the steady screen placement when it’s attached to the keyboard.
Under the hood is a Quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor, which is clocking at 1.33GHz, but has a turbo boost of up to 1.83GHz, when you need more computing power to run heavy apps. The chipset is supported by a 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, which can be expandable up to 64GB via microSD card slot. The device is powered by Windows 10 OS, no specific version; home or professional, or anything else mentioned by the brand.
In the camera department, it has a 2MP rear and front facing module, they wouldn’t be great, but the front facing camera should be enough to get your Skype calls going on fine. Regarding the connectivity options, it has a 3G enabled SIM slot support, so can connect to internet wherever you go. It’s obvious that this is a mobile computing device, not meant for you just seating around at your office desk. It can be your travel companion on business trips, or just for the personal use of getting your work done on-the-go.
The other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and two USB 2.0 ports. It is fueled by a 7400mAh capacity battery, which should give you a good amount of battery life. It would be competing with the likes of Micromax Laptab and Acer One, some of its competition in the Indian market. The Twinpad would be available in only single color; silver, company would be making it available at all leading retail stores, multi-brand stores, as well as online platforms.
