Jio had started its 4G services for its employees in December last year and was later made available to the public via Jio preview offer where they need to purchase LYF smartphone to get the Jio SIM. Recently the company has expanded the Jio preview offer to the selected Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Apart from Jio 4G services for smartphones, the company is also said to launch JioFi portable WiFi routers. We also exclusively covered about the two JioFi devices along with their specifications and plans.
Now the company is said to launch an indoor WiFi router called JioLink in the next few days. This new JioLink is mentioned to seamlessly offer the signal with its unidirectional antenna, but it will not be on par with regular routers. As of now, the 4G speeds are not that great in indoor and with the JioLink can get the better signal which in return offers better speeds. The users with the JioLink can be able to use the Jio 4G SIM on smartphones that don’t offer VoLTE. The calls can be made through the JioJoin app by connecting to the Jio WiFi.
Just the LYF and few Samsung devices, the JioLink also gets the Jio preview offer with unlimited 4G data, voice calls, and SMS. With upcoming VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi); the user can be able to make calls through WiFi signal that too when there is no signal on the device itself. The JioLink can also act as a signal booster for the user who also uses the Jio 4G SIM on their smartphone. The JioLink device along with the installation and setup is costing around Rs. 2,500 which is Rs. 500 cheaper than the most affordable LYF smartphones Flame 3, Flame 4, and Flame 6.
The interested the user can get the JioLink from their nearest Reliance Digital stores but the exact date of availability is still not known. Stay tuned for more updates!
