Continuing its launch spree, Indian smartphone manufacturer, Intex has launched yet another smartphone, which sports an affordable price tag of Rs 4,999. The newly launched device goes by name Cloud Tread. This new handset comes packed with a Hexa-core processor, locking at 1.5 GHz. It is exclusively available on Snapdeal, which an online retail store. The pre-registration for the device has started on retailer’s website. Talking about the specifications of the device, it sports a 5-inch 720p display and has a thickness of 8.7mm. The device boasts 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which has become standard for all price range. The display is protected by Dragontrail Glass. Note that the processor is MediaTek MT6591 and have six cores functioning.

Regarding the camera setup, it has a 5-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front camera module. The 5MP for front might be low, but concerning the price tag, that is all you get. Company touts camera app features such as HDR and voice capture. Voice capture is useful when you are talking selfies from 5MP front module.

It is running on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, which is probably filled with bloatware on top of custom Android skin. These days when companies are launching Android 6.0 Marshmallow on their handsets as standard, Intex is providing old Android flavour on their latest handsets.

Moving on the device have a facility to send SOS messages, i.e. emergency messages. As soon as SOS button is tapped on the device, the emergency contacts are notified about the location and sent a text message regarding help in need. Note that users need to preset the emergency contact number, which then only it would work.

Regarding connectivity, it has a 3G network support, while 4G LTE support is absent. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB port. The device is currently available for pre-order on Snapdeal in two colours, Champagne and Grey.
