InFocus M2 with Dual 8MP cameras launched via. Snapdeal, for Rs. 4999
The InFocus M2 is officially launched and available on Snapdeal, for a price of Rs. 4999, which seems like a very good price for the specs offered, and especially the Dual 8MP cameras on the phone.
Update: The news was right, as Snapdeal just tweeted about InFocus coming up with its first smartphone in India, i.e. the Infocus M2 to be launched via. Snapdeal on March 10th. It is the Dual 8MP camera device having a 4.2-inch HD display and Dual optimized LED flash.
Earlier: Infocus to enter Indian market with M2 3G Android Smartphone
InFocus is a name well known for communication and touchscreen solutions in the U.S. The company has few smartphones under its name, and have been selling those in the west, but now it is all set to enter the Indian smartphone market, and the debut possibly is with the M2 3G smartphone from its portfolio. InFocus is backed by Foxconn Technology Group, one of the largest contract manufacturers.
Though InFocus has some excellent products in the list, including the M810 with high-end specs, the target might be the budget to mid-range category and according to our sources, the M2 3G will be the first device to be sold in India.
If the details are true, we are seeing at a 4.2-inch display with 1280 x 768 pixels resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, expandable with a MicroSD card. The device runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, and it has a 2110 mAh battery packed in. It has an 8-megapixel rear camera, and what looks like a 2-megapixel front shooter, with a diffused flash for selfies.
The name suggests 3G connectivity with other standard features. As InFocus has already been selling some of its other products on Snapdeal in India, we expect even the M2 3G to hit the Indian market exclusively via. the same online retailer.
We are yet to get an official word from InFocus on this. The devices are expected to be made official in India by the end of March 2015, and the pricing could be as low as Rs. 5500, which is a competitive price for device with the given specs.
