Samsung handset comes with a 12MP module on rear side while the Huawei device rocks dual 12MP modules on the rear side. The camera mod on S7 has f/1.7 aperture, which is quite a huge deal. But if you aren’t aware, aperture number isn’t the only parameter that defines whether the camera is good or not. Huawei handset has a two lens, and they have f/2.2 aperture and a 1.25-micron pixels size lens.
Note that one lens is said to focus on colour information while other records monochrome detail of the environment captured. Talking about the front facing modules, Huawei P9 has an 8MP sensor with a maximum aperture of f/2.4 while Galaxy S7 has a 5MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture.
The interesting factor to note here is that Huawei did a partnership with Leica, who is a German camera lens manufacturer and known for being a pioneer in it. Implementing Leica’s expertise Huawei has achieved an impressive results.
Huawei is known for being quite straightforward with its technologies, as the brand touts that it’s Hybrid Focus technology this time around on top of laser focus, depth measurement and contrast. While Samsung might be called as champ in camera features department, we feel that Huawei’s latest offering brings much richer and true to life output when compared to Samsung’s offering in the premium segment.
Talking about the modes, the Huawei P9 has achieved a level where it can easily state that it offers the largest number of professional effects using various kind son modes such as film modes, wide aperture effect, monochrome mode and a separate professional mode. Samsung Galaxy S7 offers six modes and additionally allows few more to download. But apart from HDR, Manual and food mode, no modes would interest us as much as Huawei’s modes did.
