In the last few weeks, we have seen many rumors and leaks about the upcoming Huawei P9 smartphone. The leaked images of the device confirm the dual rear camera setup and also the fingerprint on the rear. As we mentioned earlier, the device will be launched in four variants – Huawei P9, P9 Pro, P9 Max, & P9 Lite. The company has sent out the press invites for the launch of the device on April 6th in London. While the device was first expected to launch in March, Huawei has postponed the event until April because of the problems in the Leica lens of dual cameras.

Huawei P9 comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. Under the hood is the Kirin 950 octa-core processor which was earlier seen on Mate 8. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with latest EMUI 4.0 overlaid. It has 12MP dual rear cameras with OIS and laser autofocus. The P9 supports dual SIM dual standby and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. It is said to support all the Global 4G FDD-LTE bands

While there will not be many differences in-between Huawei P9 and P9 Pro, the P9 Pro comes with the same 5.2-inch Full HD display. It is powered by a Kirin 955 octa-core processor, an upgraded variant of Kirin 950. The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage on P9 are increased to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage on P9 Pro. Apart from these, we don’t expect any changes between both the P9 and P9 Pro. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and offers dual SIM support with 4G LTE connectivity.

As seen with the P8 and P8 Max, the P9 Max comes with a large 6.2-inch display that offers Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. It includes the latest Kirin 955 octa-core processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. With the increased display size, the P9 Max might include a bigger battery. Though are no details mentioned; the device might also launch with 128GB storage option. Apart from the 12MP dual rear cameras with Leica lens, there will be an 8MP selfie camera on the front.

The most affordable device in the P9 series is the Huawei P9 Lite; it includes dual rear cameras and sports an all metal body. The device comes with a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. Under the hood, the P9 Lite comes with a Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor. The recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is the first ever smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 650 SoC. It has just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and we expect a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.

All the four variants of Huawei P9 comes with USB Type- C port, the LG G5 and Xiaomi Mi 5 alsocame with the same USB Type-C ports.  After launching the devices on April 6th in London, the devices are expected to be on sale starting from April 16th, atleast in China. Coming to the pricing, the Huawei P9 Lite is expected to be priced at $290, while the P9 and P9 Pro will be priced at $475 & $565 respectively. The 64GB variant of 6.2-inch P9 Max will cost you around $630. Take this with a pinch of salt, until there is an official confirmation from the company.
