Earlier this week, Huawei launched the Huawei P Smart Z as its first ever smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera. The company might soon launch this new device in the Indian market. As of now, there is no word on the pricing or the availability details. In Europe, the Huawei P Smart Z is retailing for EUR 280 (approx USD 315 / INR 22,000). In India, we expect it to cost under Rs 20,000. Even OPPO is rumored to launch the OPPO K3 smartphone with a pop-up camera very soon in China.
The Huawei P Smart Z with the 3D curved glass back body comes in Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Starlight Blue color options. It sports a 6.59-inch FullView display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device comes powered by the 12nm HiSilicon Kirin 710F octa-core processor coupled with Mali-G51 GPU. In Europe, the company launched the device with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Coming to the cameras, it comes with a dual camera setup on the rear featuring a 16MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor. On the top, there is a 16MP pop-up camera with f/2.2 aperture for capturing selfies. The camera app on this device comes loaded with advanced features like auto scene detection, portrait lighting, and more. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with EMUI 9.0 skin on the top. It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery that only supports 10W (5V/2A) power input.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz & 5GHz), GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port. On the rear, there is also a circular fingerprint scanner. Also, the device supports face unlock using the pop-up camera. It measures 163.5 x 77.3 x 8.8 mm and weighs 196.8 grams.
