Last year, Google two Nexus smartphones in 2015 for the first time. While the Nexus 5X is manufactured by LG, Huawei came up with the flagship Nexus 6P. Google had collaborated with a Chinese manufacturer for the first time to launch a Nexus device. Though Huawei is said to be interested in manufacturing one of the 2016 Nexus devices. But this year, HTC is the sole manufacturer to launch both the Nexus devices, and if the rumors are to be believed, we will see HTC made Nexus smartphones for another two years.

Surprisingly a new Huawei branded device is spotted on TENAA and the back of the device looks similar to the Nexus 6P. It is said to be launched as Huawei Mate S2, successor to the Mate S that was launched last year in London. It’s the second smartphone to feature force touch display next to the ZTE Axon Mini. From the front, it looks completely different and there no front facing speakers. It comes in white color and there is a Huawei branding on the bottom.

The volume rocker is placed below the power button on the right edge of Nexus 6P, but on this upcoming device, the power button sits below the volume rocker. There is the black camera strip which houses the rear camera sensor and LED flash. Just below the camera strip is the round shaped fingerprint sensor. The stereo speaker will be placed on the bottom edge of the device. It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI laid on top.

Talking about the rumored specifications, it might come with a 5.5-inch FullHD display. Under the hood, the device is powered by the latest 2.6GHz Kirin 960 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. There will be a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The device is kept powered on by a 3500mAh non-removable battery. It will be made official on September 1st and we expect the device use the force touch display. Stay tuned for official details!
