HTC 10 - India

Earlier, April 12 – After several rumors and leaks, HTC 10 is finally launched today. It is the successor for the HTC One M9 that was launched last year, though the device is said to be called as HTC M10 rather than the One M10, the recent leaks confirmed the device to be named as HTC 10. It comes with an all metal body featuring the curved edges, and it looks like a crossover of both One M9 and One A9.

The device includes flagship specification packed along with quite a few interesting features. It sports a 5.2-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) Super LCD 5 display, but it would have been better if there is a Super AMOLED display. There is a dual edge Gorilla Glass on top of the display for protection. As we exclusively reported earlier, one variant of the HTC 10 is powered by the Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor apart from the Snapdragon 820 powered HTC 10.

The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the latest Sense 8.0 UI laid on top. The Snapdragon 652 powered variant comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage while the Snapdragon 820 variant comes with 4GB RAM and has 32GB and 64GB storage variants. Both the devices come with a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto a maximum of 2TB.

The device is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0 with HTC’s cool charge for faster charging speeds. The BoomSound with Dolby Audio offers Hi-Fi sound experience. It also includes three built-in microphones with noise cancellation for audio recording. The physical home button placed on the front of the device also includes a fingerprint sensor.

In the camera department, the HTC 10 includes a 12MP Ultrapixel 2 camera with laser autofocus and OIS. It also has dual tone LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, and Sapphire lens. The device can record slo-mo videos in HD resolution at 120fps and 4K videos with high resolution audio. On the front is a 5MP auto focus camera with OIS and the same f/1.8 aperture.

The HTC 10 is the first smartphone to offers OIS for front facing camera. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS/GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2, and USB Type-C port. The Snapdragon 820 variant has USB 3.1 Type-C port while the Snapdragon 652 variant is limited to USB 2.0 Type-C port. It measures 145.9 x 71.9 x 9 mm and weighs 161 grams.

It is available in the Carbon Grey, Glacier Silver, and Topaz Gold colors. The Snapdragon 80 powered HTC 10 with 32GB storage is priced at $699 in the U.S. The shipping of the pre-ordered devices starts from early May.
