HTC has already announced to launch the HTC U19e smartphone today in Taiwan. However, the company also launched a new smartphone under the Desire series called Desire 19+. Last year, the company launched the Desire 12 and Desire 12+ smartphones, but now it came up with only the successor to the plus variant. As of now, there is no information about the Desire 19 smartphone. Talking about the HTC U19e, it is mentioned to come with new water glass design.
It comes with a 6-inch AMOLED display Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It comes with HDR10 playback support and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass on the top. Under the hood, the device comes powered by the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is backed by a 3,930mAh non-removable battery and supports Quick Charge 4.0 fast charge technology.
In the camera department, the HTC U19e sports dual cameras on front and rear. On the rear, it comes with a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 20MP telephoto sensor with f/2.6 aperture. The dual camera setup on the front includes a 24MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 2MP sensor for IRIS face unlock. The gradient finish Purple color variant comes with translucent glass design. There is also a plain Green color variant.
The HTC U19e measures 156.5 x 75.9 x 8.0 mm and weighs 180 grams. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with HTC Sense UI laid on top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB-C 3.1 port. While there is no 3.5mm audio jack, the device comes with HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi dual speakers with stereo surround sound effect. Coming to the Desire 19+, it the first HTC smartphone to come with triple camera setup and waterdrop notch display.
On the front, it sports a 6.2-inch HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio. It packs MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. The device comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage respectively. The triple camera setup on the rear features a 13MP primary sensor along with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, the HTC Desire U19+ comes equipped with a 16MP single camera with f/2.0 aperture.
It is backed by a 3,850mAh battery and includes a USB Type-C port for charging. Talking about the pricing, the HTC U19e is priced at TWD 14,900 (approx USD 475 / INR 33,000) and will go on sale starting tomorrow. The 4GB and 6GB RAM variants of the HTC Desire U19+ will be costing TWD 9,990 (approx USD 320 / INR 22,000) and TWD 10,990 (approx USD 350 / INR 24,500) respectively.
