As leaks suggested, HTC has officially launched the HTC U12 Life smartphone ahead of IFA 2018. It packs mid-range specifications but comes with an unorthodox dual-tone liquid finish design. The HTC U12 Life will be available in Moonlight Blue and Twilight Purple color options. The device is priced at £300 (approx $390 / Rs 27,700) in the UK and will be launching in other markets in the coming weeks.

The company is back to using the physical hardware buttons. On the front, it sports a 6-inch IPS display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform coupled with Adreno 509 GPU. There is 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of UFS2.1 storage. With the MicroSD card slot, the users can also further expand the storage on this device.

In terms of optics, the HTC U12 Life sports 16MP + 5MP dual rear cameras with f/2.0 aperture and a 13MP single front camera with the same f/2.0 aperture. Both the cameras come accompanied by a LED flash. It is backed by a 3,600mAh battery that also supports 5V/2A (10W) power input. While there is a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the device also comes with face unlock feature.

It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with HTC Sense UI laid on top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. It measures 158.5 x 75.4 x 8.3 mm and weighs 175 grams.
