HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM Smartphone with 2GB RAM & 13MP Camera Launched at Rs. 17,990



HTC has today launched the new Desire 728 smartphone in India, it looks similar to the Desire 728G smartphone that launched way back in November. Apart from few differences, the device almost sports same specifications as Desire 728G and it is also priced same as its predecessor at Rs. 17,990. The company also recently launched the HTC One X9 with Helio X10 SoC and 3GB RAM in China, but there are no details about the launch of One X9 in India.

Talking about the Desire 728, it features a 5.5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution while many other smartphones even at lower prices are coming with Full HD resolution displays. Under the hood is the 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor coupled withMali-T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to a whopping 2TB, but as of now only 200GB MicroSD cards are available in the markets.

On the camera front, it has a 13MP rear camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. As per the company, both these cameras can record videos in 1080p resolution. The recently launched Desire 828 is the only Desire smartphone to sport Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) camera which can record better videos than the electronic image stabilization.

The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Sense UI while the Desire 728G came with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. It supports dual SIM dual standby and is backed by a 2,800mAh battery. There are dual front-facing stereo sound speakers with HTC BoomSound and Dolby Audio support.  Connectivity options on this include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0.

It measures 157.9 x 77.8 x 7.87 mm and weighs around 153 grams.The device will be available in Purple Myst and White Luxury color options and will be available across through branded retails stores from the next few days. Apart from a slight increment in RAM, there are no other differences between the Desire 728G and Desire 728 smartphones.
