As we had exclusively reported earlier, Honor has now launched the new Honor 8 Lite smartphone here in India. Honor, which is a sub-brand of Huawei, has now launched the new Honor 8 Lite smartphone in India and it is priced at 17,999 INR. This is the company’s new smartphone under their flagship Honor 8 series. And just like the Honor 8, this also comes with a very elegant design which catches the eye with its reflective back. The Honor 8 Lite comes with an Octa-Core CPU and has 4GB of RAM.

On the front, there is a 5.2″ FHD display with 2.5D curved glass on top of it. It has 64GB of internal storage, which you can further expand as well via a microSD card. However, the Honor 8 Lite ditches the dual camera module for a single 12MP sensor and on the front, we have an 8MP selfie shooter. The smartphone will be available in a Premium Black color initially, which will be followed by the Blue color later in coming months.

The smartphone will be available to purchase starting 12th May 2017 in all the Honor partner stores across the country. Having said that, we would like to know what do you think about this. Earlier: Back in February, we exclusively covered about the possible launch of Honor 8 Lite and Honor Bee 2 in India. A couple of days back, the Honor Bee 2 with entry-level specifications went on sale in the offline market for Rs. 7,499. Now, we have received another exclusive tip about the mid-range Honor 8 Lite smartphone. It is already on sale in few of the European markets as Huawei P8 Lite 2017 and Huawei Nova Lite. As per our source, the Honor 8 Lite will be available in the Indian market from May 1st which is just a couple of weeks away.

Unlike the other variants of the Honor 8 Lite that packs just 3GB of RAM, the Indian variant will sport 4GB of RAM. There will be 64GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded via MicroSD card slot. Apart from skipping the dual camera setup, the Honor 8 Lite looks similar to Honor 8 with the 2.5D curved glass laid on front and back of the device. There is a 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the in-house Kirin 655 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-T830 GPU. The popular mid-range device, Honor 6X with dual camera setup also uses the same Kirin 655 SoC.

It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS with the customized EMUI 5.0 laid on top. In the camera department, the Honor 8 Lite sports a 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP front camera with wide-angle lens for selfies and video calls. It measures 137.2 x 72.94 x 7.6 mm and weighs 147 grams. There is also a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear that also supports gestures for accessing notification panel or capturing photos in the camera app. It supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid sim slot where the user can add two SIM card or a single SIM card and a MicroSD card.

Coming to the pricing, the Honor 8 Lite with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage will be priced at Rs. 17,999. The earlier launched Honor 8 with the high-end specifications and dual camera setup is still retailing at Rs. 29,999.
