Honor 8C will be the World’s First Snapdragon 632-powered Smartphone

A couple of weeks back, Honor has teased to soon launch the Honor 8C smartphone in China. While the launch event is scheduled for October 11th, the company has already released the first look of the device. Now, the key details of the device are now leaked online. As seen in the teaser image, the device comes with the glossy back body and sports notch display on the front. The Honor 8C will also be the first smartphone to come powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 Mobile Platform.

The Snapdragon 632 along with Snapdragon 429 and 439 Mobile Platforms are officially announced in June this year. The 14nm-based Snapdragon 636 comes with new octa-core Kryo 250 CPU. As seen on the Snapdragon 625, the new Snapdragon 632 also sports the same Adreno 506 GPU. On the front is the 6.26-inch FullView IPS display with HD+ (1520 × 720 pixels) resolution. With the notch on the top, the 19:9 display on this device offers 86.6-inch screen-to-body ratio.

It comes equipped with 4GB of RAM and will be available different storage options. Also, there is a dedicated MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB. The device is backed by a 4000mAh battery and measures just 7.98mm thickness. It is mentioned to give up to 50 hours of talk time. It runs on Android 8.1 out of the box with EMUI 8.1 skin laid on top. In terms of optics, the Honor 8C sports 13MP + 2MP dual cameras on the rear with a LED flash.

On the rear, we can also spot the circular fingerprint sensor. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device.
