Last year, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had launched a few popular smartphones like Honor 5X, Honor 5C, Honor 8, Honor V8, and Honor Magic. In 2015, the company launched only the Honor 7 flagship smartphone, but in 2016, the company launched four devices under the flagship Honor series including Honor 8 and Honor 8 Smart. Now in 2017, the company launched one more variant called Honor 8 Lite. This new device looks similar to the Honor 8 with 2.5D glass laid on front and back of the device but lacks the dual rear cameras.

The Honor 8 Lite sports a 5.2-inch LTPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, same as on the Honor 8. While the Honor 8 came with the flagship Kirin 950 octa-core processor, the Honor 8 Lite runs on the mid-range Kirin 655 which also powers the recently launched Honor 6X smartphone. It packs 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be further expanded upto 128GB using the MicroSD card slot. From the featured image above, the circular fingerprint sensor can also be spotted on the rear of the device.

Coming to the camera department, there is only a single 12MP autofocus rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and a LED flash. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with 77-degree wide-angle lens. The device is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery that can last more than a day of regular usage. Interestingly, the Honor 8 Lite runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat based EMUI 5.0. On the other hand, the Honor India mentioned the Honor 8 to get the EMUI 5.0 update in the month of February. It measures 137.2 x 72.94 x 7.6 mm and weighs 147 grams.

The device comes in Black, White, Gold, and Blue color options, however, the only the White and Black colored variants will be available initially while the Gold and Blue colors will be available in the coming weeks. The Honor 8 Lite is currently launched in Finland for EUR 269 (approx $290 / Rs. 19,600). It is now available for pre-orders while the sales start from February 17th. Last month, the company also launched the mid-range Honor 6X smartphone in India in two variants with 3GB and 4GB RAM options.

It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and as mentioned above, it is powered by the same Kirin 655 SoC. The 3GB RAM variant comes with 32GB of internal storage, while the 4GB RAM variant packs 64GB of internal storage. It sports 12MP + 2MP dual lens camera with PDAF and LED flash, and an 8MP front camera for selfies. The 3,340mAh battery is mentioned to give 23 hours of talk time and lasts upto 650 hours on standby. On the rear of the metal built body is a fingerprint sensor. Unlike the Honor 8 Lite, the Honor 6X runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more updates!
