Honor 5X with Metal Body & Fingerprint Sensor Launched in India at Rs. 12,999

Honor has officially launched its latest mid-range Honor 5X today in India. It is the successor for the popular Honor 4X where 10 million units have been sold till October of 2015. The device was launched in China and was recently announced in the U.S at the CES 2016 priced at $199. Unlike its predecessor, the Honor 5X comes with all metal body and also features a fingerprint sensor on the back.

At such a low price, the Honor 5X is the most affordable smartphone with a fingerprint sensor to be launched by the company. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p display and comes powered by Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor while in China it was launched with the latest Snapdragon 616 SoC. The Indian variant comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. In China, there is also a 3GB RAM variant with 32GB of onboard storage.

It features a 13MP rear camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and LED flash; and a 5MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture and wide-angle lens  for wider selfies. The device is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support that can charge 50% of the battery in just 30 minutes. The dual SIM device offers 4G LTE connectivity on both the SIM’s.

The second generation fingerprint sensor on this device is said to unlock in just 0.5 seconds. Apart from unlocking the fingerprint sensor can be used to launch the apps, capture photos, and accessing notification panel. It will be available in Gold, Silver and Grey color options.The pre-orders for the device starts today and the first flash sale will be held on 1st of February via Flipkart and Amazon India.
