Google Is Said To Be Launching A New Smaller Google Home & Chromebook Pixel Later This Year

Google‘s upcoming Pixel smartphones are not a secret anymore as the cat is out of the bag now. We all know whats coming or at least part and parcel of what is about to come. However, what we didn’t know so far was the company’s plan of launching a bunch of other new devices alongside the Pixel smartphones. Yes, it looks like the Pixel smartphones are not coming alone.

According to the sources familiar with the company’s plans, it looks like Google will be launching a new Chromebook Pixel as well as a smaller variant of the Google home as well. Although this sounds like it is coming out of nowhere, however, the more you think about it, it does make a lot of sense. Well, first of all, for those of you who don’t know, the company launched the Chromebook Pixel back in 2015 and it now it can definitely use from upgrades. However, the first thing which comes to everyone’s mind when they hear new laptop is the alleged Project Bison.

It is not entirely known if this new Chromebook will have something to do with that project. And if you don’t know what Project Bison is, it is a laptop running on a custom OS i.e. a tweaked version of Android known as Andromeda. It was intended to be a competitor to the Apple’s MacBook Pros and the Microsoft’s Surface Laptops. Back then, it was reported that it will have a 12.3″ screen, 32 or 128GB of storage, 8 or 16GB of RAM, option for a stylus, etc. It was also expected to be a convertible 2-in-1. Well, as of now, we don’t know if this new Chromebook pixel will have something to do with it or not and we have to wait for more info.

The next thing which the company is expected to launch is a smaller variant of the Google Home, which is a smart speaker. Well, as of now, there is not a lot of info about it out there, but it looks like it will be on the same lines of the Echo Dot. Given how popular the Echo Dot is, we won’t be surprised to see Google doing something on the same lines. If you don’t know the use of multiple Echo dots at a home, they all work with the main Echo speaker, sort of connecting each and every speaker in the other rooms. This can only be done if there is a smaller and cheaper version of the Google Home and it does look like Google is going for something similar.

With all that being said, we would really like to know your thoughts on this. Would you be interested in buying a new laptop from Google if they manage to compete well against the MacBooks? Let us know by leaving a comment down below.
