Another leak from the serial leakster LlabTooFeR has tweeted that Google Pixel and Pixel XL (codenamed as Sailfish and Marlin) will be shipping with Android 7.1 Nougat in the month of October. He also stated that the current built number of Android Nougat 7.1 is NDE63B and looks like Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 will also come with the same built number.
There might be a case that this built number will come with factory images and updates prior to the official release in October. However, the built number leaked here is dated September 1 and Google is most likely to change it later. Since this is still a leak, we are not yet confirmed with anything and will be updating once we get the news officially.
Earlier: Upcoming Nexus Devices Marlin & Sailfish rumoured to cost $449 & $599
With Android 7.0 Nougat in the air, we would have expected it with the new Nexus device, but that isn’t the case this time around. It is a trend from Google that usually unveils its next Nexus device which would come out of the box with the latest Android operating system on it. But, Google has already rolled out the Nougat to Nexus devices, and there is no news about the flagship Nexus device. LG V20 which will come with Android 7.0 Nougat might be introduced earlier than the Google’s Nexus device, but it might not be going for sale before Google’s latest flagship. Although LG has confirmed that it is going to announce the V20 on September 6th, we would love to see when it will be going for sale.
Codenamed as Marlin and Sailfish, these devices will get manufactured by HTC which is already certified by the FCC. These devices have also been benchmarked by AnTuTu which revealed almost all the specifications. Although Google has not scheduled any press event to release these devices, there are rumours that claim Nexus Sailfish and Marlin will cost $449 and $559 respectively for the 32GB variants. This is the same strategy that was used last year with the cheaper Nexus 5X while the Nexus 6P was a premium one.
Coming to the specifications, the Sailfish will be featuring an FHD display along with 32GB of ROM and 4GB of RAM. It will be powered by Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. There will be a 13MP camera on the rear along with an 8MP shooter on the front. The Nexus Martin is said to sport similar specifications according to AnTuTu except for the display resolution which is bumped up to QHD (2560 x 1440) from FHD (1920 x 1080). Both might be shipped with different screen sizes and storage variants, but nothing is confirmed, though.
Lets us wait and see when Google will be unveiling these Nexus devices which will be manufactured by HTC. Assuming that specifications revealed by AnTuTu to be correct, we are going see what all other features will get included on these. Till then keep an eye on PhoneRadar for more exciting news.
