Google Pixel 2 XL Announced with 6” QHD+ FullScreen Display for a Starting Price of $849

After all the leaks, Google has unveiled the most awaited smartphone Pixel 2 XL. The handset has been showcased at an event in San Francisco along with the Pixel 2 will be sporting an 6” QHD+ P-OLED Fullscreen 18:9 display as it was leaked earlier. The device will be available in Black and White and only Black color variant and is priced at $849 for the 64GB storage variant while the 128GB storage variant will go for sale at $949. The device will be first available in countries like India, Germany, Australia, Canada, U.S and UK and will be followed by Spain, Singapore, and Italy later.

The display on the Pixel 2 XL will come with 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 100000:1 super contrast ratio and also the 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. Under the hood, it is powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 with eight cores coupled with 4GB RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. The device will come out of the box, with the latest Android 8.0 Operating system and will be available in 64GB as well as 128GB storage options.

There is a 12.2MP main camera sensor with LED flash which comes with the features like OIS, EIS and can also read 4K videos. There is an 8MP camera on the front for selfies with f/2.4 aperture. The handset is IP67 rates for Water and dust resistance and will be powered by a 3520mAh battery. The Pixel 2 XL will also have stereo front-firing speaks for better sound quality and has the fingerprint sensor to enhance the security levels.

Just before the official launch, there are some leaks online about the upcoming flagship device from Google dubbed as Google Pixel XL 2 which will be the successor of the Pixel XL. According to the rumored specs, the device is going to come with 6” P-OLED screen from LG with 18:9 ratio and 1440 x 1880 pixel resolutions. It will also come with 3D Arc Glass which is also called as Gorilla Glass 5.

It won’t be a surprise if the handset comes out of the box with Android 8.0 Oreo and it will have three mics with noise cancellation and also Wi-Fi calling. On the list, there is only 8MP camera sensor on the front with f/2.4 aperture but nothing is mentioned about the main camera. The device will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset while it will be supported with 4GB of RAM. There is a 3520mAh battery and will come with an aluminum body with a glass window on the rear.

2017 is turning out to be an exceptional year as far as the smartphone launches are concerned. First, we saw the stunning new Galaxy S8 smartphones with the new infinity display. Even the iPhone 8 is turning out to be a great device or at least that’s what the rumors are saying. However, amidst all this, there are a bunch of people of out there in the market who are patiently waiting for some info about the new Pixel smartphones to leak out. Well, the wait is apparently over now.

Yes, we have now spotted the new Google Pixel XL 2 smartphone on the GFXBench benchmark listing and it surely surprises us wit some of the specs. First of all, let;s talk about the display. There are a lot of rumors out there saying that both the Pixel smartphones will sport near bezel-less displays. While we can’t give any confirmation on that, it certainly looks like we will be seeing a taller display. The benchmark listing shows that the Pixel XL 2 will sport a 5.6″ display with a resolution of 2560 x 1312. This gives it an aspect ratio of 17.5:9 which means that it will be taller than usual devices.

Internally, this smartphone seems to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC which is an octa-core CPU clocked @ 2.4GHz. This is the same one which is powering some other devices like Galaxy S8, etc. It also carries the Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The Storage reads 100GB which makes us believe that it will have a 128GB variant as well. In terms of the software, this smartphone appears to be running on Android 7.1.1 OS, but we are sure it will be running the newest version of Android i.e Android O by the time it officially launches in the market.

In terms of the camera, we are looking at a 12MP sensor at the back, whereas on the front, we should be seeing an 8MP selfie shooter. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this.
