Gionee has been silent in last few months as it is facing a severe financial crunch. Back in February, we reported that the 41.4% of the company’s shares are frozen by the Chinese court after its Chairman’s gambling debt news came out. While we haven’t seen any major launches from Gionee in China and other markets, today the company launched two new smartphones in the Indian market. The new Gionee F205 and Gionee S11 Lite are already on sale in China. Now, these two smartphones are launched in India for Rs 8,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively.

Both these devices come with displays offering 18:9 longer aspect ratio and minimal bezels. The Gionee F205 comes in Rose Gold, Black, and Blue color options and is now available via offline and online stores. Coming to the Gionee S11 Lite, it comes in Black, Gold, and Dark Blue colors and will be on sale by the end of the next month. The devices run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with the custom Amigo UI laid on top.

The Gionee F205 comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor. It offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expandable additionally up to 256GB. Talking about the cameras, there is an 8MP camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP camera on the front for selfies. It is backed by a 2,670mAh battery and measures 7.95mm thickness. While the Gionee F205 lacks the fingerprint sensor, the company is at least offering face unlock.

Compared to the Gionee F205, the Gionee S11 Lite comes with slightly better hardware along with higher price tag. Though the S11 Lite comes with a bigger 5.7-inch display, it still offers the same HD+ resolution. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU and 4GB RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. In the camera department, the device comes with a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear and a 16MP single selfie camera on the front.

With the bigger screen size, the Gionee S11 Lite also comes with a bigger 3,030mAh battery. It measures 153.75 x 72.6 x 7.85 mm and weighs 141 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The company also mentioned that these two devices will be assembled in India.
