Gionee had recently launched a new smartphone in its Marathon series, i.e., the Marathon M5 with a large 6020 mAh battery capacity. The device comes powered by MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz coupled with 3 GB of RAM. Insertion of the SIM card is the very first thing that you do when you purchase a new device. Gionee Marathon M5 comes with a 6020 mAh non-removable battery and back panel, so the SIM card slot is on the left edge of the device. To insert a SIM on your device, push the SIM ejector pin in the hole, the SIM card tray pop’s out. Now place the SIM on the tray and push it back. You have successfully inserted the SIM card on your device and the device is ready for use in sometime.
Gionee Marathon M5 is a dual SIM smartphone and supports both the GSM and CDMA network on it. The SIM card supported by the device is a Micro SIM card.
Sharing the Data over a network can be done using the tethering mode option on the device. To share a Data Network on your Gionee Marathon M5, open the settings and tap on more in wireless & networks. In the new window, tap on Tethering & portable hotspot and toggle the button adjacent to portable WLAN hotspot to enable that on your device.
Capturing a screenshot helps you in saving the data on the screen in the form of an image. There are two ways in which you can capture a screenshot on your device.

The Quick settings are available on the bottom dock on the device and cannot be customized.
Power saving mode help in improving the battery life of the device in case of emergency. The device comes with two types of power saving modes, i.e., Normal mode and extreme mode. To use them on your device, open the Settings and tap on power management in the basic settings section. Screen pinning feature is available on the devices with Android lollipop on it. Gionee Marathon M5 comes with Android 5.1 running with Amigo OS. Though the device comes with Android Lollipop on it, there is no screen pinning option available on the device.
One handed operation helps you to operate the screen by using one hand when the screen size is reduced on the device. To use this option on your device, you need to enable the suspend option on your device. To use this on your device, open the Settings and tap on advanced settings. The application opens with a camera and has two circles on the screen. These circles captures the background color. Now tap on the preview button and check the preview. Further, tap the tick button on the bottom right of the screen. The theme is successfully applied on your device.
System Manager is used to clear the cache on your device by removing the junk from your device. To use this on your device, open the system manager application. The device comes with Smart dial, smart answer, pause alarm, smart bright screen with a checkbox adjacent to it. Tap on the checkbox to use these options on your device.
Screen-off gestures help in using the device when the screen is off. To use them on your device, open the Settings and tap on advanced settings. In the new window, tap on black screen gestures and toggle the off button to enable them on your device. The options available on the screen are Light the screen by tapping on it. Draw C for the camera, Draw e for contacts, Draw M to open the music player, Draw O to open the phone list, S for the calculator. There are two more options, i.e., letter W and letter Z for which we can assign the application manually by tapping on the idea icon adjacent to it and selecting the application. There is an advanced option on the device where you can add a custom gesture on the device and assign an application for it.
