Gionee Marathon M5 Lite with 3GB RAM & 4,000mAh Battery Launched at Rs. 12,999

Gionee had recently announced the Marathon M5 Plus and M5 Lite smartphones in China. While at that time the company had confirmed to launch the M5 Lite in India in the coming days and today the device was officially made available via offline stores across the country. The device is currently retailing at Rs. 12,999 while the MRP is Rs. 13,909 and comes in Gold color. This is the best alternative for the recently launched Lenovo K4 Note that was sold exclusively through flash sales

The Marathon M5 Lite that is priced at just Rs. 12,999 comes with the same design as Marathon M5 but with cut down specs. It sports a smaller 4,000mAh battery compared to the 6,020mAh battery on the Marathon M5, but big enough for many smartphone users. According to the company, it is rated to deliver 40 hours of talk time and lasts up to 39 hours on standby.

It features a 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution and is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The device has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. While the in China, the device was launched with only 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It comes with an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, and a 5MP selfie camera on the front.

The device supports dual SIM options and offers connectivity features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It also reversible charging to charge other devices on the go. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo 3.1 UI overlaid. The Marathon M5 Lite measures 143 x 69.9 x 8.5 mm and weighs 182 grams. The Gionee M5 Enjoy Edition with almost same design along with a fingerprint sensor is said to be launched in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
