Listening to a random track, watching your favorite T.V show, Playing and competing against your friends or even the normal day to day call will definitely consume your Smart phone’s battery, so one of the major thing to check before buying a mobile is the battery efficiency.
Today we have got the chance to test the battery of the slimmest Smart phone in the world, The Gionee Elife S5.5. This device is definitely one of the most elegant devices that we can see and it is also pretty much easy to use with one hand because of its thickness and is also a very light device. The Gionee Elife S5.5 has a non-removable Li-Ion 2300 mAh battery trimmed inside it.

1st Test – Music Playback
Generally we listen to music from our Smart phones at our free times or while you workout, run, reading or travelling. We should know how efficient the battery is, so we have conducted few tests and got the results displayed below.
After music playback of half an hour the battery utilized was 22% at this rate in an hour the battery consumed will be 44% which is very high compared to other devices and the battery will become dead with in 2 hour 14 minutes with continuous audio playback.

2. Video Playback
While playing the video on the Gionee Elife S5.5 we have considered two different videos, one being a HD and other is FHD so we can get an accurate result and provide more details for the users.
Results with HD video playback
With HD video playback we found that the battery drained was 25 % in 30 minutes and with this rate you won’t be able to see one complete movie also since the battery will become zero within 2 hours.
Results with FHD video playback
We did not find much difference in the HD and FHD playback since the battery drain here was 26 % in 30 minutes that is similar to what we found on HD playback. This is pretty disappointing because you won’t be able to enjoy the battery for long time.

3. Web Browsing
The Random browsing on the net was easy on the Elife S5.5 as it is easy to hold and use, but the battery drained in this test was 23 % in 30 minutes which will make the battery die within 2 hours 17 minutes.

We would naturally have one or two games on out Smart phone that teases us to try them out whenever we find time, at this point we found that the gaming experience was very good on the Elife S5.5 but the battery consumed was 23 % in 30 minutes, similar to web browsing.

5. Normal Usage
Gionee Elife S.5.5 battery will last for hours as in our test we found that after 30 minutes or normal usage that includes a pop of a notification and a message reply. The battery drained here after 30 minutes of normal use was 8 % which will kill the battery within 12.5 hours.

The overall conclusion that we got is the battery life of the device is not up to the mark, because we cannot enjoy it for one complete movie playback also. Considering its slim body and the trimmed down battery, we can naturally expect this to be happen. The final rating that the battery of Gionee Elife S5.5 will be getting is 2.6 by taking an average of all the results.
