After unveiling the Gionee A1 and A1 Plus smartphones at the MWC 2017, the company launched only the Gionee A1 in India. Earlier this month, Gionee announced Rs. 3,500 price cut on the Gionee A1 bringing the final price to Rs. 16,500. Today, the company has launched the Gionee A1 Plus in India for Rs. 26,999. It was already available in Nepal and few other Asian markets. Unlike the Gionee A1, the A1 Plus comes with a dual camera setup and packs high-end hardware. It sports a metal build unibody design with a 2.5D curved glass on the front.

The Gionee A1 Plus comes with a 6-inch IPS display offering Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass on top. Under the hood is the 64-bit MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and comes coupled with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded using the MicroSD card slot. It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the highly customized Amigo UI laid on top. The physical home button on the front also comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor.

The USP of the Gionee A1 Plus is dual rear cameras; it sports a 13MP with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, there is a 20MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and wide-angle lens. It also includes LED flash on front and back for capturing better selfies in low-light conditions. The IR blaster is usually placed on the top edge, but the Gionee A1 Plus features it on the rear where it is integrated into the LED flash. With the all these high-end specifications, the Gionee A1 Plus is backed by a 4,550mAh non-removable battery that can easily give more than day long usage.

It also supports 18W ultra fast charging with the built-in dual charging chips. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 166.4 x 83.3 x 9.1 mm and weighs 226 grams. The device will be sold through offline stores across India starting July 26th. It comes in Mocha Gold and Black color options. While the Gionee A1 was later made available on e-commerce websites, there is no information whether the same applies for the new Gionee A1 Plus or not.
