On November 1st, we had exclusively posted few specifications about the upcoming Vivo V5 smartphone. This device will be launched as the successor to the popular Vivo V3 that was made official in the first half of 2016. Surprisingly, the successor for the Vivo V3 Max will be launched as Vivo V5 Plus instead of V5 Max. Now, we have complete specifications of the Vivo V5 but not the V5 Plus. Both the devices will be launched with the similar design sporting metal built unibody. As we mentioned earlier, the Vivo V5 will come with a whopping 20MP selfie camera and the latest information is that Vivo V5 Plus also features the same 20MP sensor on the front.

The devices will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Funtouch OS 2.6. From the past experience, The Android 7.0 Nougat can’t be expected anytime soon. Talking about the Vivo V5 specifications, the device sports a 5.5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded upto 128GB via MicroSD card slot. Not many manufacturers are offering MicroSD card slot in above mid-range and high-end devices. Though there is a 20MP selfie camera with Moonlight flash which basically works same as the retina flash on iPhones.

As we earlier expected , the LED flash would be a better option for capturing even better selfies. It is a dual SIM dual standby device with FDD-LTE and TD-LTE bands support. The fingerprint sensor is equipped right into the physical home button on the front. It is backed by a non-removable 3,055mAh battery that can give decent battery life with all these power hungry specifications. Since this is a Vivo smartphone, the Hi-Fi audio output on the Vivo V5 is taken care by AK4376 chip. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GLONASS, and GPS. The device measures 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.55 mm and weighs 154 grams.

It also includes a bunch of sensors like Accelerometer, Light, Proximity, and E-compass sensor. The device will be available in Gold and Rose Gold color options and is expected to be priced under Rs. 20,000. On the other hand, the Vivo V5 Plus might come with a bigger battery with better resolution. We might even see a slightly bigger battery. Though there is no information about the V5 Plus, the Vivo V5 smartphone will be made official on November 15th in Mumbai. In China, the company is launching the Vivo X9 & X9 Plus with 20MP + 8MP dual front cameras. unlike the virtual flash on Vivo V5, the Vivo X9 & X9 Plus might feature a single LED flash.
