Creo Mark 1 with Helio X10 SoC and Fuel OS Launched in India

Creo, the India-based startup is the new entrant into one of the most crowded smartphone markets in the world. Today, the company has officially launched the high-end Creo Mark 1 smartphone. Even starting from the brand announcement, Creo is teasing more about the software experience than the hardware details. Last month, another Indian brand Smartron debuted the Indian market by announcing the tbook tablet and tphone smartphone.

Talking about Creo, the company is said to offers monthly updates with a new set of features that makes the device feel like a new one. Xiaomi is the first company to come with this kind of updates; it offers compulsory MIUI weekly updates in China. Creo is also offering ‘EngraveMyPhone’ options for custom engraving on the bottom left edge of the device.

The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based in-house Fuel OS laid on top. Though the UI looks more like stock Android, we can expect Creo to offer several new features. It has built-in Auto Answering mode called ‘Echo’ that replies to the calls when you are not in a position to answer them personally. The device feels sturdy in hand with the metal frame and glass on front and back of the device.

Talking about the specifications, it sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display with Gorilla Glass protection on top. The Mark 1 is powered by Helio X10 octa-core processor coupled with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It has 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via provided MicroSD card slot.

On the camera front, it has a 21MP rear camera with PDAF and LED flash that can record videos in slo-mo and 4K resolution. For selfies, the company offers an 8MP camera on the front that record in 1080p resolution videos. The device doesn’t include the fingerprint sensor which can be spotted on all other recently launched devices at this price range.

The device is backed by a 3,100mAh and is rated to deliver 21 hours of talk time and lasts upto 16 days on standby mode. It also supports fast charging which makes lesser time to full charge the device. The company claims that there are 106 support centres in 96 cities across India and is targeting to reach 300 supports within the next few months.

As we exclusively mentioned earlier, the device comes only in Gun Metal Black color. It measures 155.4 x 76.1 x 8.7 mm and feels too heavy by weighing 190 grams. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers FDD-LTE and TD-LTE on both the SIM’s. Connectivity options include 4G LTE,  Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 n/ac/b/g, GPS/GLONASS, OTG, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.

It has dual microphones with noise cancellation support. The anti-theft options called ‘Retriever’ on the Creo Mark 1 makes the device location accessible even after factory reset. The device is priced at Rs. 19,999 and will be exclusively available through Flipkart and CreoSense websites. The first 2,000 orders will get the engrave options for free and that too only on CreoSense website.
