We have seen a couple of interesting smartphones launched this month with competitive specifications and were priced in between Rs. 15,000 – Rs. 25,000. Unlike the budget devices where most of them sport a polycarbonate body, these devices come with superior build quality and offers lag-free user experience. While there aren’t many options to choose from, below are the list of those few devices.
As we exclusively reported earlier, Vivo V3 and V3 Max are officially launched in the Indian market. Both the devices look almost similar and sports an all metal body. There is a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the devices. They run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with the customized FunTouch OS 2.5. The Vivo V3 comes with the 5-inch 720p display while the V3 Max features a much better 5.5-inch 1080p display. There is 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded upto 128GB.
The Vivo V3 is powered by Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor along with 3GB of RAM. On the other hand, the V3 Max is backed by Snapdragon 652 SoC with 4GB of RAM. There is a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and LED flash, and an 8MP front facing camera. Both the V3 & V3 Max are backed by a 2,550mAh and 3,000mAh battery, but only the V3 Max supports dual chip fast charging. The V3 and V3 Max are priced at Rs. 17,980 and Rs. 23,980 respectively.
Though the flagship HTC 10 is made available for pre-orders in most of the countries, HTC hasn’t mentioned any details about the Indian launch. Instead of that, the company had launched a new variant of HTC Desire 828 with few upgraded specifications. While the earlier launched device came with just 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, the new variant is equipped with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with HTC Sense UI overlaid.
It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity through both the SIM’s. The device comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and is powered by MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor. It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and OIS and a 4MP Ultrapixel camera on the front. The device is kept powered ON by a 2,800mAh battery. The device also includes BoomSound speakers with Dolby Surround System. It is priced at Rs. 19,990 while the 2GB variant is now retailing at Rs. 18,000.
Microsoft had launched the mid-range Lumia 650 in India this month. The pricing of the device places it on the mid-range segment, but it features entry-level specifications. The Lumia 650 is only recommended for those who want Windows powered device. It comes with a polycarbonate body with Aluminum frame around the device. The device sports a 5-inch AMOLED display with HD (1280x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 212 quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage.
There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto 200GB. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE. The Lumia 650 includes an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. It comes with the latest Window 10 out-of-the-box and also supports voice-based AI Cortana. The device is kept powered on by a 2,000mAh that might not last more than a day of usage. It will be available in both Black and White colors.
Instead of launching the flagship variants, ZTE came up with the mini variant of the Nubia Z11. The Nubia Z11 and Z11 Max can be expected to launch in the next couple of months. Talking about the Z11 mini, it sports a 2.5D 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with 3rd Gen Gorilla Glass protection on top. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
There is 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded upto GB via MicroSD card slot. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Nubia 3.9.6 UI overlaid. It sports a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.4 and 80-degree wide angle lens. It is backed by a 2,800mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE.
Creo is the latest Indian smartphone brand that had debuted the market by launching Creo Mark 1 smartphone. The company provides monthly updates with a new set of features. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based in-house Fuel OS laid on top. Talking about the specifications, it sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display with Gorilla Glass protection on top. It os powered by the Helio X10 octa-core processor coupled with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
It has 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via provided MicroSD card slot. In the camera department, it has a 21MP rear camera with PDAF and LED flash. For selfies, the company offers an 8MP camera on the front that record in 1080p resolution videos. The Mark 1 is backed by a 3,100mAh which is rated to deliver 21 hours of talk time and lasts upto 16 days on standby mode. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 n/ac/b/g, GPS/GLONASS, OTG, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
After the launching Vibe P1 Turbo in February this year in Indonesia, Lenovo has officially unveiled it in India in April. There are similarities in design in between Vibe P1 Turbo and Vibe P1, even most of the internals also remain same on both these devices. The device is powered by the 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. It comes with 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. There is 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded upto 128GB.
It includes a 13MP primary sensor accompanied with a dual tone LED flash and PDAF. There is a 5MP selfie camera on the front for capturing selfies and video calls. It is backed by a 5,000mAh non-removable battery that is said to give 49 hours of talk time and lasts up to 30 days on standby. With the 24W Turbo Charing, the device is rated to give three hours of talk time with just five minutes of charging. It has a dedicated hardware button for enabling power saving mode is also present on this devices.
