Earlier, we talked about the Xiaomi’s partnership with Meitu to sell Meitu branded smartphones. The future Meitu smartphones will be coming from Xiaomi while using Meitu imaging technologies. However, a new Meitu smartphone with the model number MP1801 is currently certified by TENAA and will soon hit the market. It will mostly be the last Meitu smartphone to come from the hands of Meitu.

Just like its earlier launched smartphones, the upcoming MP101 also comes with the signature hexagonal design. The company seems to use a combination of metal and leatherette for the curved back body. It comes with a 6.21-inch AMOLED notch display with Full HD+ (2248 × 1080 pixels) resolution and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. However, the huge notch on this device includes triple front-facing cameras. We can also spot the physical fingerprint sensor on the huge chin.

Under the hood, the device will mostly come powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform coupled with Adreno 630 GPU and 8GB of RAM. The device will be available in 128GB and 256GB storage options and there is no MicroSD card support. It will be running on the latest Android 9.0 Pie with the custom Meitu UI on top. Eeven with the bigger form factor, the device lacks the dedicated 3.5mm audio port.

Talking about the cameras, the upcoming Meitu smartphone sports 12MP + 8MP dual cameras on the rear and 12MP + 12MP + 8MP triple selfie cameras on the front. It is backed by a 3,400mAh non-removable battery that also supports Quick Charge fast charging technology. Just like the other Meitu smartphones, the upcoming MP1801 also comes in a wide range of color options including Red, White, Mint Green, Pink, Blue, and Orange.

The device measures 176.0 × 75.0 × 10.55 mm and weighs 207 grams. As of now, there is no information over the official launch date of this new device. We hope the MP1801 will be first Meitu smartphone to make its way to the Mi Home stores. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
