Asus has recently launched a new Tablet, i.e., Zenpad 8.0 Z380KL priced at Rs 15,999. The device is powered by Qualcomm MSM8929 Snapdragon 415 SoC Octa-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz coupled with Adreno 306 GPU. It has an 8.0-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixels as its resolution. The device with 2 GB RAM and 8 GB as its internal storage and can be expanded up to 64 GB using an external Micro SD card. It is powered by a 4000 mAh Li-Poly Battery and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1. The device sports a 5 MP rear camera and 2 MP front camera. The design of the tablet is decent and comes with a removable back case to insert the SIM and memory card on your device. If you have purchased the device then here are few Tips and Tricks about the device which will he;p you in exploring the device with ease without any interruption.
Before we start with the Tips & Tricks here is a quick guide to setup your device. When you boot your Tablet for the first time Welcome screen appears. Now select your language and click on next button, further select the type of keyboard and click on next button. Now select the internet Connectivity and click on Next button. It will ask for a Wi-Fi connection, connect to your network and click on next button. Now you need to setup your google account if you want to add an account or else you can skip that, further you need to enter your Name and click on the Next button in Google Services Page.
Once your done with the basic setup it will further ask for an Asus Account. If you are an existing user you can use your previous account or else you need to create a new account. This can be easily skipped by tapping on the next button. Once you skip this process Set Date and Time window appears on the screen, you need to set the Time according to region and click on Next button. Further, you need to agree the terms and conditions from Asus and click on next button. You have successfully set you device and now its ready for regualr use.

To insert a SIM Card on your device, power off your device and remove the back panel. Now insert the SIM card on respective port as per the marked direction and power on your device. You have successfully inserted SIM card on your Phablet.
Asus Zenpad 8.0 comes with a Single SIM card support and the SIM card supported by the device is Micro SIM card with 4G connectivity.
Sharing of the Data Network can be done with the Tethering Port on your device. To share a Data Network on your Zenpad 8.0, open the settings and tap on More in Wireless & networks. In the new window, tap on Tethering and toggle the off button adjacent to Portable Wi-Fi hotspot to enable that on your device. If you are enabling this for the first time, it will be an open hotspot where anyone can connect you hotspot and use your internet. So to avoid this you can set the password for you device by tapping on Set up Wi-Fi hotspot in the same window.
Screenshot is used to save the data on the screen in the form on an image. To capture a screenshot on your device you need to press the power button and volume down button at the same time. The screenshot is thus captured and saved to the gallery on your device. The image can be quickly accessed from the notification panel immediately after the capture.
Android updates help in fixing the minute bugs on your device and helps in improving the performance on your device. To check for updates on your device, open the settings and About in the systems section which is at the bottom of the screen. In the new window, tap on system updates and click on Check Update. The device checks for updates and if there is no new update, then a message stating Your Device is Up to Date is displayed on the screen.
External Apps can be installed by enabling the Unknown sources option on your device. To check for Android updates on your device, open the settings and tap on security in the device section. In the new window, tap on Unknown sources and click on the OK button in the pop-up to enable that on your device. Now you can install any external App without any interruption on your device, before you install make sure that the app doesn’t harm your system.
The quick settings in the notification panel can be customized on your device. To customize the settings, open the Notification panel and tap on Edit button adjacent to the settings Cog. In the new window, tap on the check box for the options that you want them to appear on the notification panel. You can arrange the options of the options by holding the three lines adjacent the options and by dragging them among the options. Once you are done with the selection, tap on the save button which is at the top right of the screen. You have successfully customized the notification panel.
Power saving mode is used to improve the battery life your device during the low battery conditions. to use this on your Zenpad 8.0, open the settings and tap on Power Management and click on power saver. In the new window, you will find three options Ultra Power saving Mode, Optimized mode and customized mode. Now tap on the checkbox adjacent to any of the options to enable them on your device.
Acceleration, Geomagnetic Rotation Vector, Gravity, Gyroscope Uncalibrated, Light Sensor,Linear Acceleration, Magnetic Field, Orientation, Magnetic Field uncalibrated and Proximity are the sensors available on the device and helps in automating the device.
No, there are no LED notification lights availble on the device.
Screen pinning option is used to pin any of the application on your home screen and is available only with the devices with Android Lollipop and further. To use this on your Zenpad 8.0, open the settings and tap on security in the personal section and head over to the bottom of the screen and click on Screen Pinning. In the new window, toggle the off button to enable the screen pinning on your device. Now to pin an app on your screen, open the recent window and tap on the pin button for the app that you want to pin. The App is successfully pinned on your home screen. To unpin your pinned screen, you need to press the back and the overview button at the same time for about 2-3 seconds.
The device comes with a lof of Apps and bloatware pre-installed on it. The pre-installed apps include Asus Support, Audio Wizard, Auto-Start Manager, Backup, Browser, Baisc tools, Kids Mode, My Asus, Power Saver, Quick Memo, Remote Link, Splendid, System update, ZenCricle and Web Storage.
Yes the apps can be moved from internal to external Storage on the device without any interruption. To move an app on your device, open the settings and tap on Apps in the Device section. In the new window, tap on the appp that you want to move and click on the Move to SD Card button. The app is successfully moved from internal to external SD card on your device.
The device comes with a lot of bloatware Apps like Clean Master, Amazon Kindle, Zinio, Free Games, Trip Advisor, Puffin free, Omlet Chat and Photo Collage pre-installed on your device.
Yes the bloatware apps can be removed from your device by uninstalling them from your device and not all the apps are remoavble. The apps which cannot be removed can be disabled on your device from the App Manager Window. To remove an app, open the settings and tap on apps in the device section. In the new window, tap on the app that you want to remove and click on the uninstall button at the top right of the screen.
The device comes with 16 GB as its internal storage and out of 16 Gb around 11.14 GB of free spaces is available for the end users and rest of the space is occupied by pre-installed Apps and Operating System.
Easy Mode helps you in providing a friendly experiences with simple layout and core functions. To activate this on your device, open the Settings, Tap on easy mode. Now, tap on the off button to activate it. The font size becomes large, and all the apps appear on the screen. You can also add, more apps by tapping on the add button, and you can delete the apps by tapping on the edit button. If you want to exit the Easy mode, open the settings, tap on easy mode and click on the ON button to de-activate it.
The device comes with 2 GB of RAM out which 548 MB is used by system 187 MB is the Cache RAM and around 1.2 GB of free RAM is available when no Apps are running on the device.

To enable the developer mode on your device, open the settings and tap on About in the System section. In the new window, tap on Software information and further tap on Build Number for about 7-8 times to enable that on your device. Once the open is enabled ” You are a developer ” messages pop’s on the screen.
The device comes with three motion gestures, i.e., Shake Shake, Double Click and Flip. To use these gestures on your device, open the settings and tap on Zenmotion in the device section. In the new window, tap on Motion gesture and toggle the off button to enable that on your device. Further toggle the button adjacent to each of the options to use them on your device.
Kids mode is used to provide a safe playground for your kids.To use this on your device, open the Kids Mode app and click on next button. Now setup the password for parental control and setup a security question to retrieve the password and click on next button. further, select the apps that you want them to appear in the kids mode for your children and click on next button . Once you are done with the setup click on the finish button. The Kids Mode is activated on your device with the selected apps with parental options and exit button.
