Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S Smartphone Announced with Android Nougat & 5000mAh Battery

Asus has unveiled another device in China called as the Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S and will be added to the Zenfone series. Earlier we have seen the company releasing devices like Zenfone AR and Zenfone 3 Zoom which is built for photography. The new device will be the successor of the Zenfone Pegasus 3 that was made available last year. The handset will go on sale very soon and is priced at 1,999 Yuan (approx $288) for the 64GB variant.

The device sports an all-metal body build and also has a fused antenna band design which was also found on Apple’s iPhone 7. Coming to the specifications, the handset has a 5.2” IPS HD display while is covered with a 2.5D glass on the top. Under the hood, there is a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core 64-bit processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The Pegasus 3S will come with two different storage options (32GB and 64GB) that could be further extended up to a maximum of 2TB via microSD card slot.

Moreover, Asus has also included the fingerprint sensor which is embedded in the home button. And it can store up to five different fingerprint support for making payments and unlocking the device. On the back, there is a massive 5000mAh battery to power the handset which is an upgrade on a 4100mAh battery that was used on Pegasus 3. The company also boasts that the battery is capable of giving a standby of 30 days and 48 hours of intense use. It comes with a 5V / 2A fast charge and comes with five different power saving modes.

On the camera front, there is a 13MP rear facing sensor with f/2.0 aperture, with Phase Detection Autofocus and it will be accompanied with 8MP front facing camera. Asus has pushed in the HDR Pro mode feature, and there is also PixelMaster technology inside along with many other modes. This dual SIM device supports VoLTE connectivity and has other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Out of the box, the device comes with Android Nougat 7.0 should be available across other countries very soon.

It will be competing against other devices like Lenovo K5 Note, OppoOppo F1S, Xiaomi Mi Max, OnePlus 3, Moto G4 Plus that come with similar specifications.
