What are the Motion Gestures present on the Asus Zenfone 2?

This device packs a set of gestures under a ZenMotion tag, where you can access the motion gestures of the device as well. To access this, you have to go to the settings and then head over to device section. Tap on ZenMotion, which will further lead you to Turn ON the Motion Gesture functions. Long Press on the Motion Gesture option and you will see an option named, Shake Shake. Turning it ON would allow you to take screenshot & create a new task (in Do it Later app) when you shake the phone while using an app.

As said in above tip, there are several gestures present under the ZenMotion tag, and Touch Gestures are few of them. To access these touch gestures, you have to launch the Settings app and then head to device section. There, you’ll have to tap on ZenMotion and further turn ON the Touch gestures. Now long, the touch gestures button, and you shall have more options. There are two modes and six gestures. Double tap to wake (wake-up mode) & Double tap to sleep the screen (Suspend mode) are your screen ON and OFF mode. While the gestures like W to launch Browser, S to launch messaging apps, and more are your pattern gestures, which can used to directly open the specific app from suspended screen. Remember you can customize them too, by tapping on any pattern and selecting a different app from the list.

What is Screen Pinning on the Asus Zenfone 2?

It is particularly an Android Lollipop function, which can be used to showcase an app or any particular screen by pinning it. But first you have to turn ON the screen pinning, and that is done by tapping on the recent menu button and then tapping on a middle icon. Now turn ON the screen pinning, and open the app that you would like to pin to the screen. From there, tap on the recent menu button and then tap on pin icon showing on the app, just beside the close button. Now if you want to unpin the screen, then it’s easy, you just have to touch & hold the back and overview buttons at the same time.

Further tap on power saver option and you will have those three modes in front of you. Select the Ultra mode if you’re too low in the battery as it limits the functionality to necessary parts. But if you want a balanced performance and battery life, then, Optimized mode should be your option. While in the customized mode you can select various fields according to needs.

This feature allows you to customize the several settings and modes on the device. From Recent Apps Keys, Changing Screenshot file format to enabling One-hand & Glove mode.
