Asus has been releasing spree of Smartphone’s from the recent past and has become popular with its ZEN series of smartphones. Asus Pegasus 5000 is the new device that has been launched in China for CNY 1,299 around Rs. 18,500 which is the enhanced version of Asus Pegasus 2 Plus. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS display and also sports a Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. The Pegasus 5000 is powered by a 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek (MT6753) processor.

How to insert the SIM card on your device?
It is easy to insert SIM on this device and is same as most of the handsets in the market firstly switch off your device if you have booted it and remove the back panel. Now insert the SIM in their respective port and put back the cover and power on your device. You have successfully inserted SIM card on your device and will be ready to use once the device is setup.
What is the type of SIM supported on this device?
Pegasus 5000 is dual SIM smartphone and supports dual stand by. The SIM card backed by the device is Micro SIM card, and both the SIM’s will support 4G connectivity.
How to share your Data network via Tethering on the device?
Data sharing helps you to share the internet over a device. To use this feature on your Pegasus 5000, open the Settings and tap on more button in Wireless & networks. In the new window tap on the Portable hotspot and click on Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot to enable that on your device. You can change the Network SSID name and Password by tapping on Set up Wi-Fi Hotspot in the same menu.
How to take a Screenshot on my Pegasus 5000?
With the help of screenshot, you can take an instant image of the screen. This ensures that you can view this image when required. To capture a screenshot on this handset, hold the power/lock button along with the volume down button simultaneously until you feel a vibration or hear a sound. This captured screenshot can be quickly viewed by swiping from the top or by opening the gallery app. This screenshot can be shared via any application later.
How to use the kids mode on this device?
Asus Pegasus 5000 has got and inbuilt kids mode option on this device. It helps you secure your device when you give your device to children. All you need to do is activate the kids mode and select the apps that you want to appear in kids mode and save it. To enable, Tap on the kids mode app, set a password and select the apps and save. Once it is done, the rest of the screen won’t be accessed. If you want to come out from the kids mode, you need to tap on the exit button. Now enter the pin and click OK to exit.
How to check for the Android Updates on the device?
Android updates are helpful to fix the minor bugs on the device. To check for updates on your device, tap on the System folder and click on Wireless updates. The device checks for updates and if there are no new updates on your device then “Your Phone Software version is Latest One” is displayed on the screen. If there is an update available the user needs to download the update and then install it, make sure the battery of the device is more than half before the installation process starts.
What are the Pre-installed Apps on the Asus Pegasus 5000?

To customize quick settings in the notification panel, click on the edit button in the notification panel and select that apps that you to add your notification panel. Selected options will appear in notification panel in 3 rows.
What are the Layout preferences on this device?
The device comes in Two layouts One layer mode and Two layer mode. One layer mode, It does not include All apps button. So all the apps are available on the home screen and easy to use. Two layer mode, it includes the All app button and is same as that of original Android experience. To set this on your device, long-press on the home screen/ swipe from button manage home appears on the screen. Now, tap and preferences and in the new list tap on layouts. Further, you can change from one layer mode to two layer mode by tapping on the apply button.
How to use the Power saving modes on the Pegasus 5000?
The power saving mode helps you to increase the battery life in case of emergency. To enable this option on your device, click on setting, scroll down to device list and click on battery. Further, click on the menu button and tap on power saver and click on battery modes. There are two types of battery modes available on this device, Smart-saving mode, and Ultra-saving mode. These two saving modes can be customized as per the requirement of the user. The Ultra-saving mode maximizes the battery life and disconnects the network connection when it is active. Click on the type of power saving mode that you want to use. The power saving mode is successfully activated on your device.
What are the sensors available on the phone?
Direction, G-Sensor, Acceleration, Light, E-Compass, Proximity, Gyro, Linear acceleration and Rotation Vector are the sensors available on the device and helps in automating the device.
What is Easy mode and how can you this on Asus Pegasus 5000?
The easy mode provides you a friendly interface experience with simple layout and core functions. To enable this on your device, Open the settings, head over to personal, and tap on Easy mode. Now, click on the Off button to enable it. The mode of your device now changed from normal mode to the easy mode where you can add apps on your screen by tapping the Add button and selecting the apps. You can also access the apps from More Apps button on the home screen in this mode.
Are there LED notification lights on the device?
Yes, the device comes with LED notification lights on it and must be enabled on your device. To use the LED Lights on your device, Open the settings, tap on Brightness& display in the device section and click on Indicator light. You will find options like Calls, Messages, Notification, Charge and Low battery. Tap on the options for which you want to get an LED notification on your device.
How to use the Screen pinning feature on the Pegasus 5000?
Screen pinning option is available on the devices with Android Lollipop on it. Pegasus 5000 comes with Android 5.1 and does support the screen pinning feature. Now, open the settings and click on Lock screen & security. In the new window head over to screen pinning option and tap on it. Now toggle the off button to enable that on your device. Now open the recent menu and pin any of the application on your device by tapping on the pin button. To unpin your pinned screen, you need to press the back button for few seconds, and you have successfully unpinned from your device.
Can I Move apps from phone storage to SD card on this device?
Yes, there is an option in Asus Pegasus 5000 where you can move apps from internal storage to external storage. All you need to do is open the settings, click on Apps, in the new list of apps, click on the app that you want to move. Further, Tap on move to SD card. The app is moved from internal storage to SD card.
What are the bloatware applications on the device?
The device comes with few bloatwares like services, Facebook, Wechat, Whatsapp. As it’s a budget oriented device, we can’t see much of other applications.
Can I remove the bloatware apps from the device?
Yes, the device comes with an option where you can uninstall the apps from your device. Not all the applications can be uninstalled, the applications which cannot be uninstalled can be disabled from your device. To uninstall an app, open the settings and tap on App in the device section and click on the app that you want to remove. In the app info window, click on the uninstall button, the app is successfully removed from your device.
How much the internal storage on the Pegasus 5000?
The device comes with 16 GB of internal storage out of which around 11.96 MB of space is available for the user and rest of space is occupied by OS and other pre-installed apps. This is very less since users cannot store much data or can use many applications on the device.

The device comes with 2 GB of RAM as well as a 3 GB RAM variants. The 2 GB variant has around 968 MB of free space and the rest is occupied by the system OS and other background applications.

The different screen on gestures available on this device is you can double tap to suspend/lock the device. To wake up your device, you can again double tap on the screen. Screen Off gesture include W- to launch the browser app, S- to launch the messaging app. The other gestures used in suspended mode are, e- to launch email app, C- to launch the camera app, Z- to launch Asus Boost, and V- to launch the phone.
