Asus joined the 18:9 display bandwagon by launching the Pegasus 4S smartphone in China. Now, the company launched its second full-screen smartphone called ZenFone Max Plus M1 (ZB570TL) in Malaysia. The device comes high-end specifications and is priced at MYR 899 (approx $220 / Rs. 14,000). It will be available in Sunlight Gold, Azure Silver, and Deepsea Black color options. However, there is information about the availability of the ZenFone Max Plus M1 in other markets.
The ZenFone Max Plus M1 comes with a metal body and sports a 2.5D curved glass on the front. The smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) FullView display with the longer 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone is backed by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6750T octa-core processor coupled with Mali-T860 GPU. The ZenFone Max Plus M1 includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 256GB using the MicroSD card slot.
Asus is also offering 100GB of Google Drive storage with 1-year validity for free. On the rear, the device sports 16MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP secondary sensor with 120-degree wide-angle lens. For selfies, there is a single 16MP sensor on the front with f/2.0 aperture. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 152.6 x 73 x 8.8 mm and weighs 160 grams.
It is backed by a 4,130mAh battery that is rated to give up to 26 hours of 3G talk time and lasts up to 26 days on standby. Though the company claims the ZenFone Max Plus M1 to support fast charging, it is only limited to 5V/2A (10W). The device also offers fingerprint sensor along with face unlock. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with the customized ZenUI 4.0 on top. The smartphone also comes with dual SIM card slots along with a dedicated MicroSD card slot.
