Apple Investigating Report of an Eleven-year old girl’s iPhone 6 Explosion

According to a report, an 11-year old girl from California has said that her iPhone 6 has caught fire while it was in her hands. She claims that she has thrown the device across the room when she noticed sparks from the phone. The girl named Kayla Ramos said that she generally uses the phone to watch YouTube videos and the device has also made holes in a blanket after she shew threw it.

According to 23ABC, the girl said that she was sitting down, and I had my phone in my hand and then I saw sparks flying everywhere and I just threw it on a blanket,” said Ramos. “I was right here on the bed and the phone managed to burn through this blanket and make these holes”. She also mentioned that she uses the phone occasionally to watch videos and lets her younger sibling to play games on it.

The following day, the girls’ mother – Maria Adata called the Apple support to inform about the instance and she was asked to send images of it and ship the phone to the retailer. She also said that this could have been my child and she could have been caught on fire and might have been hurt more but she is glad her daughter is ok. The iPhone maker said that there could be several things that might have caused the iPhone to catch fire which includes using unauthorized charging cables and chargers.

Apple is reportedly said to provide the family with a new phone and also investigate the cause of the explosion. 23ABC also reached out to Apple officials for comment on the same but their media personnel was not aware of the explosion. Last year we have seen a similar explosion and in May, an iPhone was also caught on surveillance video suddenly exploding and catching fire in a store at Las Vegas. What do you think?
