Alcatel, a company which is known for launching a lot of affordable smartphones in the market has now launched a new device in India. This time what we are looking at here is the new Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) which is essentially a phablet which is just an upgraded version of its predecessor. According to the company, they have launched this new phablet to cater the growing needs of people for the devices with a larger display for media consumption. Now that mobile data is widely available for a comparatively cheaper price, this should be a good time to launch such devices with huge displays to target the interested people.
Now talking about this new device, as mentioned it is essentially a phablet as we are looking at a 6″ display. This is an IPS HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Internally it is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset which is coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded upto 64GB via a microSD card. For the camera, we have an 8MP rear facing and on the front, there is a 5MP selfie shooter which can also be used for video calling, etc.
This new Pixi 4 (6) supports VoLTE and it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The company had also announced the Alcatel Pixi 4 Plus Power Smartphone earlier and in fact, if you feel that the 6″ display is too big, then you can go for the one with 5″ Pixi 4 smartphone which was launched earlier. At the time of the launch, the Pixi 4 (5) was available for a price tag of 4,999 INR from Flipkart. And now talking about the pricing and the availability of the new Pixi 4 (6), the phablet is priced at 9,100 INR and there is not much info about the availability of the same. Stay tuned for more info on this.
