AGM X3 Rugged Smartphone with Snapdragon 845 SoC Launching Soon

Have you seen the weird smartphone TVC from a Chinese smartphone manufacturer called AGM? (If not, click here to watch). The TVC is about the latest rugged smartphone from AGM called AGM X2. Now, the company has announced to launch the AGM X3 as its successor. While the device will be unveiled later this year, the official specifications are now revealed. Just like its predecessor, the AGM X3 will also be a complete rugged smartphone.

Apart from the rugged nature, the device will be packing latest flagship specifications. It is said to come powered by the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 385 CPU and Adreno 630 GPU. Till date, Samsung is the only manufacturer to launch the rugged smartphones with the flagship Qualcomm chipsets. Later this year, it will be launching the Galaxy S9 Active with Snapdragon 845 in the U.S.

Talking about the AGM X3, it sports a 5.99-inch display on the front with 18:9 aspect ratio. It comes in two variants with 6GB and 8GB RAM options with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage respectively. The AGM X3 will be running on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. This new rugged device will beshockproof, waterproof, and dustproof. There will be a hybrid SIM slot for using two SIMs or a single SIM and MicroSD card.

In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a 24MP + 12MP dual rear cameras and 20MP single front camera. For device authentication, the AGM X3 will feature a fingerprint sensor and face unlock technology. While there is no information about the battery capacity, it is mentioned to support Quick Charge 3.0 and wireless charging. It’s interesting to see how this rugged device will be capable of offering wireless charging support.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (2×2 MIMO), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, A-GPS, USB OTG, NFC, and USB Type-C port. While the AGM devices are known for including air pressure, ambient temperature, humidity, and VOC detection sensors, there is no confirmation whether these sensors will be offered with the new AG X3 or not.
